For those who weren't around last year:

The Father's Day quest last year was a quest to find Captian Teague. At the end of the quest, you were given a symbol next to your name that lasted for 3 hours of GAME TIME. While the symbol was there, you earned double rep.

According to the May newsletter, they are bringing back the "find Captain Teague" quest this Father's Day. If it is the same quest, you want to be sure to do it with EACH of your pirates. Even your fully Mastered ones.

Even though you may not play the fully mastered pirates regularly, and they don't earn rep even if you do play them, it is probably a good thing to have 'in the bank' for that magic day in the far future when the rep cap is finally increased.

I still have this quest left over on one of my pirates from last year. As Basil said, if it is the same one, at least start it on each pirate of yours

I think the point here is missed so let me spell it out more clearly.

The 3 hour window of double reps will stay with your character when you log off. The time only expired last year for 3 hours of online game play meaning you can do the quest then log out and not log back in until the cap pops. That way the first 3 hours of game play will be double reps for you. This is all on the premise that you will not use that character until the cap is lifted. If you log in the clock starts ticking away. If you log out again it will stop. You were able to check the time remaining by typing in /+something or other. I think that is the point Basil was trying to make.

Just to add to what CaptainGreenGene said, if you just start the quest, but don't complete it, you aren't awarded the double rep. Meaning, if you only pick up the quest but don't work on it, it will remain in your journal until you complete it. I did that with my lvl 21, and I still have yet to do the quest, yet it remains there. So for those planning to save the double rep for the cap raise, getting to the last part of the quest but not turning it in would allow you to play without the risk of losing it.

Last year I thought as soon as you got quest you got 3 hours straight.... so i was on for a boring 3 hours straight.

Last year, I got it, then forgot about it and completed it months later. I then went to Tortuga and people kept asking me how do you have that x2 next to your name

... But I'm definitely going with the plan of Taking the 40s out and "stashing" their 2xREP - then take the other two - one at a time - and level then up on their REP

I have put in two of my account's pirates to go and talk to Jack at the Rowdy Rooster for this latest Father's Day quest.
Each one has been told, "Sorry I have nothing for you". Though other pirates by the droves come and go.
Way to go POTCO with yet another complete SNAFU.

I just tried it with my pirate that I had Last Father's day. He did the quest last year and Jack said he had nothing for me. All of my pirates that were not around last year were given the quest no problem. So, my theory must be that if your pirate did the quest last year than you can't do it again.
