True Friends or Fake?

I usually wait until I have hung out with for awhile then add them. If there are a guildmate, i'll add then in a day or two.

I know a few who acted like they were real but they turned out to be fake/backstabbing....etc

Well with people that you've met on an online game, you never know. If they seem real, try to keep it that way. My take on this is to treat them like real friends but not real LIFE friends, because you never know the person behind the pirate...the person behind the pirate may not feel comfortable with joking around a certain way or whatever else, which might cause them to remove you.
These people might not really be backstabbing/fake people, just people reacting the normal way if they feel uncomfortable associating with you.


If somebody removes you, they could either be backstabbing users or they could just not like you. That's my take on this.

I can understand this. I have tried to treat game friends like real friends. For example my real life friends would know what I mean when I say something crazy and know I mean nothing bad by it. I learned that lesson already not to treat game friends like real ones and not to assume they should just "know" what you are thinking or what you meant.
Though there are some things that maybe I don't or did not fully think about what it could be perceived as...basically think before you speak. I have problems understanding what underlining things mean or could mean....that's what I was told.


But I have had people who are users/backstabbers

I get that too, Count...I add them and ask them if they need help on anything and they say yes.
Others just wont say a thing and disappear but then I delete those who dont say anything.
Sometimes they use you to teleport, specially when sailing.
