how do the old players feel about the new updates.
As founders, beta testers, people who have been playing since janurary of 2008, How do you feel about the new updates to the game? Do you like them? hate them?
How do you feel about the new interface, For example the new chat, The friends/crew/guild list? |

I like them the only problem is that playing since the game was released means that everything they release new gets old to us with in a few weeks.

I like the changes, most substantial changes since SvS implementation, and could make it easier for them to put in additional content with the larger overall areas, yet more efficient proximities (limited line of sight) to reduce lag. The efforts being seen also show to me they are putting more time now into POTCO, or at least it would seem. Testers have been reporting bugs/glitchs since the start that got left untouched.. and now they are trying to clean things up, and give us some new content.. Thanks Big D.

I really like the new updates. However, it will be painful for the mates who are keeping track of records, like maps and point locations of NPC and other stuff...it will be like doing it all over again...but there is always help
. I was joking with a friend about the new Tortuga..I told her "Does this New Tortuga have Wi-Fi? I hope there is and when the new ships come out, they better come with GPS installed!" hahaha

Wow man, um well I think I joined um February I think, or May, I forget. But I am kind of happy that there are putting improvements in the game but they should think a little better when there comes new islands, bugs and glitches everywhere! Well I think they are doing better then before so yay! But I still miss that old jail invisibility glitch, and no I don't use it all the time. I would use it on the boss battle and boarding a flagship. But to bad I can't teleport.
. I am going to get me rum..... My Rum Is Gone!!! LOL. Any way keep up the good work Disney! And put more rum in the game!

I like the improvements. I'm glad to see they are working on improving the game. However until the next big story quests come out there won't be anything for older players to do.

i have to agree , the new updates are great and its nice to see them working and all, but until there are major updates like say... new lvl caps, new ships ,new weapons etc... the older player will still not have much to do.

Well, I'm a founder and hate the changes to Port Royal and Tortuga. As a higher level it's pretty rare for me to visit those two islands but when I need to go there for something I want to get in and get out.
The old islands were conducive to that, the new ones aren't.My complaint with POTC all along is that they don't add real content often enough. Good quests are what keep the experienced players in the game. I used to have a full friends list with people that played several days a week. Every last one of them dropped out months ago because there was nothing to do. Heck, for months we waited for them to unlock the bug-ridden Black Pearl quest and no one on my friends list took more then two attempts to complete it. Huge letdown. While they make changes how about a good quest with some real meat to it to keep us upper level folks interested? None of these piddling "go out and sink ten ships, now collect 20 buttons from a soldier, now kill five crab" type missions. |

ive been on this game for a long time!
i feel that the changes are good! more quest are coming in, so us old players wont get bored! and the old tortuga and port royal were getting boring and it was time for change! i also love privateering! its so much fun to battle against other pirates! and i love the new weapons, like vipe staff, grand pistol, pirate blade, taboo doll! they are all great! it was time for change! for sure! |

I'm just back from a short stint as basic (long story), and I am still finding where everything is in Port Royal and Tortuga. I get lost for a bit then I find what I'm looking for. I have noticed more glitches lately. I never had that many before.

I have noticed many good things and bad things to the new port royal, and tortuga. I seem to think the new port royal is okay. (I dont think it is great because I like pdf, and i dont stay in one place for long I seem to want to get in, and out of tortuga, and port royal fast and I cant do that anymore.) I tend to just think it's okay. I dont like the new tortuga that much though. I also think they should add quests. I have been in the game since January 31, 2008 and i love it. Although I also get bored with how there arent any other quests. So I think they should add some more for the older experienced player. (I am only level 13 because I have been basic since January 31, 2008 when I started playing the game. I cant say its been the best gaming experience Ive had but its better then playing something like runescape, and paying for it you know? so even though I am playing basic I think that if I could pay for it I would because I would get more bang for my buck then I would with something like runescape.)

Well, I like the updates themselves but the bugs and glitches are extremely annoying.
I like how Disney seems to be making an effort to reduce the lag and possibly create a new storyline, even if the islands take some getting used to. The friend/crew/player/guild list is a lot more easier to use. I like being able to keep track of the number of guildmates without having to scroll through the list, and crewing, guilding, friending, etc. is a lot easier. I also really like how they made it so that if you're AFK with a weapon out for a certain amount of time, the weapon draws. Disney, you'll probably never know how great that idea is. ![]() Overall, I rate the updates a 7/10. The bugs affect my rating. |
