Gasparilla 2009
My girlfriend and i had the good fortune of attending this year's Gasparilla pirate fest. We were joined by eight other PotCo pirates (who we play with in game) from around the country; 1 from Oregon, 1 from Texas, 1 from California, 2 from Pennsylvania, and 3 from Florida. A GREAT time was had by all, as we made a weekend of it. We spent Friday at Busch Gardens (the coasters rock), Saturday at the festival (we saw plenty of Jack Sparrows, pirate lads & lasses, but sadly no Barbossas) capped by a 3 hour pirate parade. Sunday was recovery/leaving for home day. Good times
 Getting to actually meet face to face with people we play with online was as much fun as any activity we did as a group! Everybody looked sorta like their pirate, and we found no fake personalities. You think the day parade is fun? You should try the night parade in Ybor that place is crazy! its usually the weekend after the day parade. It must have been nice to meet people that actually play in the game too and the gasparilla parade is probably the best place to hang out at if your a huge pirate fan. I know ya'll had to ride sheikra at busch gardens probably the best coaster out there with the 90 degree drop! lol Incase you can't tell I stay in tampa lol

Yes killer_rose, we know about Ybor... ; ) The event/parade was very cool, but I had a better time just hanging with the RL pirates.
Sheikra's 90 degree, 200 foot drop (after being hung on the edge... at 75 degrees... for 5 seconds) is the best adrenaline rush from a coaster i've had. 10 seconds of coaster perfection! Montu, a top 10 rated coaster in the US, is my favorite start to finish ride. And Disney's own Space Mountain, unique in it's "in the dark/ in the stars" theme is another favorite. Never met a coaster I didn't like... lol. |

Yeah you know about Ybor and all the great things that happen there lol Your like me with the adrenaline rush I love it! I love the feeling after you get off the coaster when your "trying" to walk lol especially after sheikra because they make you walk down the spiral stair case lol. Montu is awesome too! Before I leave busch gardens we always have to ride Montu 1 last time. I actually went to Disney World this past weekend for the 1st time in 9 years and its changed a lot. Of course I rode the pirates of the caribbean ride about 10 times lol and I probably woulda rode space mountain that many times but the line was waaaay too long. I remember when I 1st went to Disney that was my very 1st real rollacoaster and I loved it! Altho when your an adult at Disney you kinda just wanna kick all the lil kids in the head towards the end of the night....or drink a bottle of rum ;-) lol nothing that a lil rum can't fix
