How many skill points do you have in grenade ammo. I redid mine and put one in each, and with a good crew, I see good rep when taking on the darkhart boss on pdf.

The more damage you do with grenades, the lower the rep. I have only one point in each type of grenade and the rest in passive skills. Smoke bomb, Stink Pot and Fire grenades will give you more rep than using the standard grenade any day of the week. Try tossing a few of each....the combination seems to provide good results. Use the standard grenade as a last resort. I've done this with plenty of characters.....trust me it works.
P.S. - Siege charge is fun just to show people and toss around...lol...looks so funny holding it. Does MAJOR damage and the reps will be very low.

![]() But on the topic of this thread- I agree, grenades take way too long to level. With the time it takes to reload one stinkin' grenade, I can practically fire off two rounds from a tri-barrel pistol. So I don't necessarily think grenades should give more rep, but I think they should recharge a lot faster so they aren't so aggravating to level. On another note, I just mastered my grenades today, so YAY ME. lol |

With things like the kings fence, I would say grenades is one of the easiest to level. Staff as well with both being a multiple creature attack at once.
Just like any other weapon, you make a choice. You add points into damage, or attacks used to level, you will level slower. If its more important to pvp or something to a person, then add points to damage in it, just don't plan on gaining levels very fast at all. Grenades other bonus aspect, is there is no choice to make a mistake in getting a upgraded weapon so it levels slower. This alone standing away from all other skills with also a multiple creature attack, makes it the easiest in the game to level. Probably worse thing about grenades if anything, is not able to carry enough. All skills are the same, better you are, more damage you do, less rep is what it basically boils down to. Last 4 or so characters I have built I haven't started the weapon quests until they mastered the skill, for just this reason. The bought tri-pistol is fine since it doesn't add a plus point damage which effects lower skills. Other then that really, the start weapon, and basically no damage spent in skills until mastered. A few not used for leveling is fine to put 5 points in and used for big blows or kills. |

Grenades are really hard especially if you don't do them before you hit 40.. i keep kicking myself in the butt for not mastering them first... Im only at lvl 16... ill be happy if i just hit 20 lol

While I'm no fan of grenades in general...lemme get this straight. You want petition support for a list of mystery complaints? And you'd associate my name with your mystery complaints? No thanks.

I absolutely hate nades. But my main problem was one that has been stated. I waited too long to master them. I was level 40 before i tried to master them and in return got low rep. In order to reach level 24 & 25, I had to take on Remington, the Vicious (with the help of healers) to master. I got about 130-135 points for each kill with Vicious. But am absolutely not looking forward to leveling them with me second pirate...lol

Grenades aren't that bad. Leveling on a boss seems like a waste of time to me. Especially for level 40 pirates who might have everything mastered but nades. For one bosses waste too much ammo, if you don't switch weapons when you're attacking it, you don't get more than 100 rep (plus the amount of crew bonus). When I still had my level 39 it took only a few hours to master nades in the catacombs. Didn't have any healers either, was just me and me (used the two pirates on CP thing). IMO its actually harder to level nades on your first pirate instead of your second. Seeing as you already know where and what to do the second time around.

I mastered my nades before they added bosses, but the truth is, if you can't do it right, don't take credit. I may have died 20 times before I hit level 25 grenades, but at least I never glitched or cheated my way. Just a tip, if you're glitching, you accomplished nothing, and deserve nothing....

I agree, and really what the point is I am making. Even if people want to use say, the invulnerability glitch for grenades, they are likely making more work for them self anyways. I have tested many of these things out. Grenades is a used up item, so if invulnerable you can't go replace them. You can't go in a shop and buy more, you can't get out of the shop. You can't teleport. Your choice is to sail to a SVS Island or something, and more work than its worth. Or just go in and out of invulnerability, and make runs to back beach, also more work. So using it in combo with all other skills is where I see the problem. Now is Darkhart a glitch, another question? If that is the case, all bosses are really a glitch. The boss at the quarry a glitch next to a healer? There is so many of these things the more deeper ya go, I find it hard to say in many cases what is a glitch, and what is not. So in any means if they are glitches and exploits being used then fix them in a timely manner. The old hex shot was in the game something like 9 months. Oviously invulnerability is a glitch. As it turns out so was hex shot. I find it hard to really point fingers at all in some of these areas, when its likely many used some sort of glitch them self, knowing or not. This making them better or worse I can't say that is the case. Other than some of these direct expoits like invulnerability, I believe most of us strive to find what works best, such as hex shot. And to eliminate what players are taking advantage of others with. |

I can handle the fact they are almost a useless weapon, that they get low REP in return in amlost all cases, that they are all around painful... But - it is the ONLY weapon which theere is no 'free' option. Cutlass and Dagger have no cost at all, Doll and Staff only require your charge of voodoo which has no associate cost - and the pistol... you get free plain bullets. But there's no 'free' Bombs. You spend huge amounts of money on these things for little return (usually into the minus as the cost usually outweighs the return from enemies unless you can get them grouped - and survive the grouping). Gimmie free gernades, I don't care if you call call them 'fire crackers' that only do small damage (in fact - I'd like that cause you'd get better REP return) - but a free option should be given. |
