I agree in theory with all three of your points, but in practice no. 3 gives me pause. Who wants to do nothing but nades from 0 to 25 exclusively? People play this game for fun not to develop an obsessive compulsive disorder. No plundering? No helping friends and guild mates? Almost everything involves getting some rep. Sure its great to get it over with, but I suspect most people will be burned-out before they get there.

I'll try leveling my 3rd pirates straight through, but I bet I end up using the same approach as I have with my 2nd pirate. He's noto 36 with level 23 nades and will probably master grenades before he reaches level 40. And my other weapons are not far behind. As bearable a way as any I suspect. Just as long as you don't have several levels left at the end.
