Exclamation Pirates.exe Utilizes lots of memory

Lately after the Muertos Moon release on POTCO, I have been experiencing lot's of disconnects from the game, regardless of which server I am in. I have been troubleshooting and noticed that Pirates.exe process is increasing Memory Utilization and never decreases. I've seen this issue for other games executables and I have submitted screenshots and they fixed it on the following release. Anyway, for those of you who are using Vista, and experiencing some sort of disconnects while in the game, you will see that Pirates.exe starts at 78K memory utilization and while game goes along you will see that the process is over 100K...when the game freezes and force you a disconnect, the process is now over 700K Memory Usage. I could be AFK in the game, and the process just eats utilization like crazy.

Has anyone here seen this memory usage going up and never going down before? (Especially Vista users)

For those who want to check the memory usage and don't know how to check, here is some assistance:

a) While in the game, hit the Ctrl + Alt+ Delete keys.
b) Click on "Task Manager"
c) Click on "Processes"
d) Look for Pirates.exe and see memory usage column.

This is the main program executable. Its nature alone would likely put itself in this situation, as your pirate encounters more data the longer its connected, yes even AFK, your not at the keys, but its still connected, still playing the game, still collecting data of its surroundings. As the program caches more data it would reflect this accordingly, makes perfect sense to me.

I would also say the amount of memory being referenced isnt that much. 700k is nothing, a drop in the bucket.

I posted this somewhere else before but I will once again tell you how to prevent POTC from using tons of ram for no reason.

AS soon as you log in and choose your pirate and pop up in the game.

STOP

press the windows key on keyboard to pop you out of the game and on your desktop (PC) this has zero impact on the game and simply pops you to the desktop nothing more. then press (control/alt/delete to bring up the task manager (windows XP) and click the second tab at top (PROCESSES) then scroll down and look for the LAUNCHER.EXE right click and select end process.

DO NOT select end process tree as it will shut down POTC.

The launcher program is only needed to start the game once you are in the game it uses lots of ram and it is the means by which Disney uses sub routines to rifle through your PC while you are playing. WHY? don't have a clue but most likely they are checking log files and chat files for whatever reason. Once I was told by another pirate awhile ago that the launcher program had a MIND of its own and was hogging resources I simply turned it off.

been playing for over 100 hours with it not running and it only speeds up the game play more then buying a new video card. specially in privateering.

Never been booted since then.

For Vista users you may need a couple of different steps to access the task manager and quite frankly I don't use Vista so you will have to start a thread and ask for directions to do this on a vista OS

Zeppers you might be right.
Also, the thing is that this was not happening before the last update. I am pretty sure that when things are added to the game, in this case, the curse and new events stuff, it contains more graphics which it turns to be the primary cause of the alarming CPU utilization. I have noticed that by decreasing the texture setting for the game, the CPU utilization drops, not quite much, but game is not freezing now. That said, it means that I soon will have to upgrade my video card with higher Texture Fill Rate. We all expect the game to have more graphics added as it goes along, anyway.
