what's with the lil padlock thingy??

been wondering about this for awhile... on the page right after the log in screen, where you're standing on the pier and there's all your different pirates to pick from on the left (if you got unlimited) and the place to pick your preffered server, and your unlimited/basic status info all is....

....what's with the little padlock symbol between the box that tells you what server you're on, and the play button?! always wanted to know, but never could figure who to ask!!

just curious what it is and does...

It locks your pirate from being played or deleted without the right password. Good if you have one account shared by family members, and you don't want anyone accidently deleting your pirate, or changing your wardrobe...or selling your ships...

This is what it is supposed to be for.

I have a number of linked accounts and tested this awhile back.
And unfortunately, unless it's been recently fixed it, it doesnt work at all.

Deletion of pirates must be done by the account holder, linked accounts could not delete other accounts pirates, only its own last I tested this with my own accounts.

Access to the pirates on the linked accounts is wide open as long as the selected pirate is not "Already Online". Once in the game they can do anything to your pirate.. so do not link accounts with anyone but your trusted family members.

Oh, I had no idea it didn't work...never had to test it. No one here but me thinks pirates are fun LOL.

I Have a bacic account as the back door, so thats good to do if you get suspeneded.

You can not do anything to delete the pirate on a linked account, but you can do anything elce.

I Think it just disables you from deleting it if you dont know the password..?

As Zep said, the account holder is the only one that can delete a pirate. An account that is linked cannot delete the other account's pirate.

However, as Zep also said, it is prudent not to link an account with anyone other than family. Sometimes friendships go bad, and you may log on to find that your pirate is flat broke with no ships, stranded on Perdida.
