??? The Dutch are from Holland or modern day Netherlands. I am surprised that they would have been part of the EIC or EITC since they had a lucrative spice trade with the East Indies.

The german national anthem says nothing about germans being dutch. It "attempts" to looslely define the area of the german people, but it includes large areas of non-geman and non-germanic languages. The dutch language language, like english, originates from german.
