For some reason, I dug up all of the possible places, none of which actually had anuything in them, but it still said that I had done the quest... i guess I can't help you on this one, sorry

When my ship landed at Cangrejos, I turned left and went all the way to the tip of the island and found a big rock formation like the description said.
