Bowdash's Black Chest on Isla Cangrejos
 

I can only find one spot to dig, and it's not the right one... Help please?

I'm on this quest right now too, but have yet to go to Isla Cangrejos. If I find it, I'll let ya know where to dig.

I found 2 different spots to dig, both near the path in the middle of the island. Neither one was the right spot the first time I dug, but when I came back to the first spot a second time, it was reset and I found the chest when I dug there again. You might try that.

Yes, I found it near the path, tucked between two rocks and a giant crab, level 20.

When my ship landed at Cangrejos, I turned left and went all the way to the tip of the island and found a big rock formation like the description said. I found a spot to dig and got it first try.

I've dug up four chests and NADA. The first chest I unearthed seems to be where you all are describing, but it won't finish coming up....bug I think...so I'm going to log back in and see if I can get to it again. This one is ticking me off :)

I was running around in circles on the island, until i found a shadow of a dig spot somewhere on the island. However, at that point, giant crabs caught up to me and I lost it. I found the dig spot again, and the first time I didn't get the chest but the second time I did. Weird. Anyways, the chest I found is right where the ground changes steepness. It's around a dingy that has a large amount of rocks to its right, and nestled in the rocks is a giant crab. Assuming you come from this dinghy, go up the left side of the rocks the crab is in, and walk around where the ground's steepness changes. You should find a dig spot there. It might take two tries, because this quest isn't about finding the right dig spot, but more of luck.

EDIT: By the way, you don't have to log out to reset dig spots. You can just go to your ship, then anchor again. That resets it.

You don't even have to go back on your ship to reset it. If you stay there for a few minutes, it resets itself. I usually run around killing stuff to work on my weapons while I'm waiting, but I have just stood on the spot and the circle will come back right under me.

i remember doing this and where to dig it's hard to describe but i'll try my best. On the far point of the island in the jungle there is a rock formation with very high level wasps. next to that is a narrow curving path of roots. It is right at the bottom of the tree.

you can walk around the rock in a circle... it is a lot easier to show but hopefully you can find where i am saying.

I have tried this many times, but it has never worked for me. I dont know what to do.

I can't find it - any help? Screencaps would be helpful :)

I found it; though it took a couple tries. I found it on the edge of the grass, near three crates amd a boat. There is a giant and rock crab in area,And if you face ocean from it, you'll be facing north ( near north anyways ) If doesn't work, keep trying!

^^I tried that 3 times before getting it. :)

For some reason, I dug up all of the possible places, none of which actually had anuything in them, but it still said that I had done the quest... i guess I can't help you on this one, sorry
