Assuming the problem is with this particular game only, have you tried changing the Graphics Option at the Launcher? By default its Open GL. Select DirectX9, then launch the game. If it is DirectX9 already, check Open GL.

If you have been receiving this message anyway, then its your OS. This is a known issue and I would recommend that you go to Microsoft's website and contact support. According to what I've read, users had to uninstall an unwanted security program when having two of them. In that one case, he uninstalled Norton and things worked fine.
