I recently purchased the game (which I believe to be the crowning achievement for word-of-mouth advertising and indie games) and have begun a map using the seed "gargamel", which a friend recommended for its sheer awesomeness. He did not lie. I have built an entire underground system with about 4 mining projects, a 30-plot wheat farm, and a mountaintop castle complete with a tower to fire arrows from and 3-block high ramparts surrounding it. Not bad for my first day of playing. :P
(P.S.: Gargamel is a landscape with a lot of huge mountains and deep caves throughout. I spawned in what was essentially a hollow mountain with a two block entrance. It was so big, the game glitched and grew grass on the dirt inside of the cave.) |

I didn't have any sort of seed to start my first world on because I want the first one to be completely legit.
I have a fully functioning semi-automatic wheat farm and a regular sugar cane farm. The only time I'll ever need it is for sugar and for making bookcases, so I didn't make it too big but once I have the wheat farm full it should be able to produce 128, which would make me very happy. Has anyone attempted a cobblestone generator? I tried one with pistons today but once I realized pistons can't destroy cobblestone blocks(or any blocks for that matter) I decided to scratch it and make a semi-automatic one. Is there really a mod out there where it can destroy cobblestone so you can make a fully automatic generator? P.S. How exactly do you make automatic generators? The best I've been able to do is a one way switch and pressure plate doors. How do you make something full automatic?(running all the time) I'm not too upset about the pistons not breaking blocks but the whole idea behind it was to make it look like this big looking machine that produces its own materials. |

Redstone Elevator which almost reaches the clouds. I'm leaving room for an area which I'll call the Boss Suit. Maybe it's cheesy sounding but it will serve as a tower that oversees the rest of the redstone powered machines.(and non-redstone-powered "machines")
The first working machine is an infinite cobblestone machine. If pistons could destroy other blocks, then I could make a completely automatic one but unfortunately Notch didn't make it that way. I wish he would make pistons with the ability to destroy other blocks, providing they're made with Obsidian push plates rather than wood. That'd be cool.

Here is some of my pixel art for now. The Pac-man ghosts and my friends Pac-man:

^Those are sweet!
Also, I meant that we should have pistons made with obsidian in order for them to be able to destroy other blocks. Currently, pistons are made with four cobblestone, three wood, iron, and one redstone dust. I think an update should be made so that when you replace the wood push plate(the wood is that the piston uses to push other blocks) with obsidian, when an object is inbetween two obsidian pistons and the pistons are activated, the block inbetween the pistons is destroyed. (don't know if that sentence came out very readable) I'd just like pistons that can destroy other blocks so I could make a completely automatic cobblestone machine. |

Also after playing a few adventure maps, I'm thinking of making my own. Maybe a Fallout themed one or something..... |

Anyways, here's a picture of an almost completed perimeter of the top of the tower I've been working on. It looks a bit weird so I did change it a bit so it looks more symmetrical. ![]() You know, I wish there was an option(a non-mod option) where you could turn off rain or snow. It really lags that game when you're around giant buildings you've built. |

Ah, oh well, I guess I can put up with the rain then.
Also, I have some squid questions. I've had my first encounter with them today, a group of five. Because I've built a bridge to a tower, they're blocked off in this small lake area. Do squid die eventually, or would I be able to block them off in an aquarium area so I could see them any time I want without worry? I'd kill them for ink but I plan on making an exhibit section of my world and they're in the perfect spot right now. If they don't die and I can block them off in a small aquarium, then this first world is set for an exhibit. I knew the hardest part would be squids so if I have them in an area where they'll live forever, then this makes my day. I've looked around the net and no one has really answered this question. I know mobs and zombies die but I've never been sure about squids. |

Also has anyone ever seen a legit pink sheep? Since they were added I have seen only 1 of them. Seems the rarest mobs are Pink Sheep, Spider Jockeys and Slimes. Found a legit slime at the bottom of my missle silo a few days ago. Also since Better than wolves mod hasn't updated I was forced to make a second world. I named it Lulzville and so far I used World edit to make a 50 by 40 hole in the ocean and am now making an underwater city. Coming along nicely and with Mo' creatures I get a chance to look at underwater life while I build

Swash, I didn't even know there were pink sheep! I've encountered slimes and spiders with mobs on them(I don't know what those grey things are called) but never a pink sheep.
My main city is no where near any huge body of water for me to even think about making an under water city, although I have traveled far outside of the spawn now and when my highways of cobblestone from the main city go far enough out, I'll be making one. Legit, of course, so it's going to take an extremely long amount of time. Anyone else done a floating city before? After this tower I'm working on and after I finish my "factory", I want to making a floating area, replicated after the nether. |

I have had squid spawn in a 3x3 waterfall. They fell down and trampled the crops I had planted at the bottom of the waterfall. As such, I have a lot of resentment for them. :P

I just finished my tower. It's the one that looks like it has a giant mushroom top. The floor is all glass so I can view all of the factories, generators and farms I have. Currently I only have a sugar cane farm, bread farm, tree farm, Obsidian generator, and a cobblestone generator.
![]() ![]() The tower is mainly so I can have a nice view but later on it'll be my main view point for a floating nether replica. Can anyone top my mushroom tower?(don't want to make this a contest, though) |
