Minecraft

So, I'm thinking about getting this game along with a few of my friends, and I just wanted to know if anyone on here plays this

Captain Del 03-06-2011 07:38 PM

I tried it out once, and I must say that it is very fun, and strangely addicting. The only thing that you'd need to play this game is patience, but even large scale workings don't take that long.

Oh, and also, you might want to be careful with th- oh, you'll find out ;)

I've never played the game myself, but one of my friends has it, and... I think I may know what Del is talking about. (Things trying to eat you in the night)

How much does it cost?

I've heard you can get it off a website for free :)

Nice way to put it, Del. I'm sure you wouldn't mind revealing that SSSSSSSSecret, right? :D

Yes, Minecraft is good. Obviously as the Del said, you need patience. It's worth it, in my opinion. The worlds are actually endless, and so are the possibilities of what you can make.

Yes, it is oddly addicting. I love the survival aspect of the beta version. My son runs the beta server on his computer allowing the other computers on the home network to log into our own private server where we can play together, or you can open it up and allow friends to join you, or you can play on other servers that other players are running. (There are no formal centralized company run game servers like potco has). My son likes to seek out mods for the game, but be carefull, he picked up a nasty trojan in the process. The company is in Europe so you will need a pay pal account to pay for a license that allows you to log into the game (that's for the beta, the creative version I believe is free, but all you can do with it is build stuff)

Does it take a lot of memory if it doesn't I'm going to download the free one

What is the difference between the beta and the free

pieisbetter2 03-06-2011 11:43 PM

The beta is basically the game, because the actual game is not out yet, but if you buy the beta, you get the full game when it comes out. The free you play from the Minecraft website and there isn't a whole lot you can do. There are some online servers, but in the offline mode, it get's kinda boring :/

Roger Sharkshot 03-07-2011 12:33 AM

So how much is the beta as in american money

It's $20 until the full version comes out, then it will be $25. Also I bought the game and made my own server. The server was actually pretty easy to make, and very reliable. I watched some videos, and I can't wait until I start mining Obsidian and make a SPOILERS to the SPOILERS. :D

Roger Sharkshot 03-07-2011 10:56 PM

Yeah gonna buy it and theres a discount going on so good for me

Swash 04-22-2011 06:58 AM

Full version comes out 11/11/11 for all who didn't here. Btw me and a couple of my friends have our own server, but I don't think I'm allowed to post the IP here on POF so just PM you and I'll send you the IP to get in the server. Tomorrow the server map is going to change btw, and its either going to be Farmcraft or Survival Island whichever seems funner but I think Farmcraft looks pretty good so I'm probably changing the map to that.
