I think we should have some sort of group of elected members to be leaders maybe say 3 or 4 people to vote upon specific things such as disaplenary actions and possible banning of a guild. Or else if could turn into a huge arguement if the enitre conclave votes upon a disaplinary action towards another guild.

I believe that my way is much more reasonable, and easier: If a guild doesn't follow the rules, they get a warning. If it repeats, they're out. Sweet and to the point.

Rules can be miss interpuraded and could be argued... whos to say that the other guild was going against the rule if they say that the rule did not apply to what they did?

Clearly a guild that is being charged in violating a rule won't have a say in if they did it or not - that's like having a murderer on trial decide what his fate will be.
And really, the rules are pretty much straight-foward. The only rule that deals with misbehavior is the first one, which deals with disrespect, or conflicts - both of which require just little amounts of common sense to judge whether or not they actually occured. I really don't like the idea of having to make some guilds more poweful than others. It makes everything too... unequal?, perhaps. I'd be willing to put this up for decision amongst the rest of you, just.. well, I don't know. It doesn't sit right with me, making booting a few misbehavers a whole big complex system. That's why TBC failed - it was too complicated. |

i've argued about this idea to del he doesn't like it and it seams unimportant for now but i like the idea that i partially gave to you. how about a vote to see if we should have it it would be a test of our democracy and maybe del's tolerance. i also vote for this board (council) pure democracy doesn't work for disciplinary actions elected people are needed.

i'm not asking about a huge syestem like TBC just like 3 or 4 people to help run the disaplenary actions so we don't have chaos.... I'm all about being simple

Um... Countainer... you are making too big of a deal out of this... you are PMing everyone way to fast, and we are still just forming the guild... Del is the GM by popular vote, therefore it is his responsibility to be sending out PMs to everyone.. and sometimes you get a bit aggressive...

on the subject of del the role of gm was ment to be symbolic tittle like queen of england no, real power was ment to be vested in an elected council not a gm. to be honest when i asked him to be gm i just wanted to keep the collective alive he was the best way to do it and it worked. del when you put forth your demands they it seamed like you would follow the council (you seamed to like democracy and had a life which makes you less active) and draw guilds in after all the only one who would join was davy no offense but that was not what i wanted for the collective i probably should have seid this sooner. on a related note the original constitution for the guild collective that was going to be posted after the election and the collective got under way will be posted soon.

So, what your saying is, I have no real powers, and I was simply an advertisement ploy? That surely makes me feel a lot better about taking up this role.
Well, Countainer, this still is a Democracy. I was chosen by the people to lead, and I'll be damned if I'm left to sit back and watch others do the work. If they didn't want me to run, they would have said that. Therefore, I WILL continue to lead the Conclave, on the grounds of popular majority. |
