Well, from what i've heard, you are correct. The host GM events that plenty call a waste, boring, etc.. they sometimes provide information on what is to come (if you find a server where people actually listen to the host GMs you tend to get more info). Skullduggery Bones also posted a thread a while ago, that was a lore made from what she heard in her Role Playing experiences.

In my opinion (given what i've heard in the events too), I think that these updates are gonna arrive soon.. so yes, you sound pretty correct to me (in my opinion).
