Ghosts: Same Old Monsters
Since I have time to pause and look around, I've been appreciating the ambiance in the POTCO world. Despite the fact that the rocks have nice straight lines, the look of the dungeons/grottos is superb. I've even looked up at the ceilings and admired them. I think the developers have done a fantastic job of designing and implementing this microcosm.
One place I feel they really fell down was with the ghosts. I expected them to be somehow different. Reach out and touch you to drain some life essence, or even just freeze you by being nearby. Adventurers should require silvered or magical weapons to even have a chance of harming them.
No, the ghosts pull out swords or throw knives. Bane shot does extra damage, but they can be destroyed by the fragments of ordinary explosive grenades. Other than their appearance, how are they any different from other monsters?
