Always try to take a Galleon from the bow side...at least that is the way I learned to approach them. But since the updates, it is nye impossible to attack a galleon from the front (bow is front..Aye?). The navy & EITC ships that used to turn with their front to your ship, now turn to expose the sides of the ships to the attacking vessel. This leaves the attacking ship open to be hit by thunder, fire, & fury from the enemy broadsides. I do know that if you are sailing a frigate, you don't have to get this close. But since I prefer to sail a galleon and sail alone most of the time, I have noticed this alot as of late. I'm not the best sailor in the Caribbean, but has anyone else noticed this change?? Or is it just one of those Lizzy things???
