Galleons & Updates

Always try to take a Galleon from the bow side...at least that is the way I learned to approach them. But since the updates, it is nye impossible to attack a galleon from the front (bow is front..Aye?). The navy & EITC ships that used to turn with their front to your ship, now turn to expose the sides of the ships to the attacking vessel. This leaves the attacking ship open to be hit by thunder, fire, & fury from the enemy broadsides. I do know that if you are sailing a frigate, you don't have to get this close. But since I prefer to sail a galleon and sail alone most of the time, I have noticed this alot as of late. I'm not the best sailor in the Caribbean, but has anyone else noticed this change?? Or is it just one of those Lizzy things??? :laughks2:

I will pay close attention to that. But for now lets say its a Lizzy thing.

I'm gonna second that.. I think its a Lizzy thing too :P

Actually I don't think this is a Lizzy thing. When the updates first came on Test, I did notice that enemy ships don't always come straight at you like they did before making them easy driftwood. They've apparently improved the NPC ship AI so they're actually trying now.

I have noticed that if you tag with cannon from a distance they still come straight at you the big difference is that they turn to use their broadsides from further away than before. Making solo sailing a little more tricky but not overly difficult. With the new ship speed you can start going when they turn and they still have trouble lining you up.

I would agree--NOT a Lizzy thing. Good challenge though.

OK, not a Lizzy thing, I was just sailing and they don't get as close as used to. They are shooting from far away. I like it! Sailing was getting way to easy.
