July 20
Tortuga Docks
2:00 pm
Now, remember what I said about no crew who mutinied deserved to live? Well, my crew is funny that way. I looked at my “crew” that marooned me, aboard the Sea Hawk, pulling ropes, repairing damaged areas, playing Poker on the deck. Then I looked at the crew that I recently recruited at Padres and Tortuga. There was about ten of them. There was Otter, who continued to be my first mate. And of course Trust, who has a very accurate aim with the cannon. From Blaze’s handy work with the Cursed Deepwater Broadsword, to Johnny’s expert marksmanship with the Privateer’s Bayonet, this crew should and will keep my other crew in line.
Now, there it is again. The one fault with the Hawk. It’s cursed. Cursed with a fate that condemns her and her crew to Hell when the ship has sunk. Which brings me to another, boring point. My crew is cursed along with the Hawk, as you may have guessed. They cannot permanently die with the Hawk afloat. When my ship is sunk, they die forever. Their souls are tied along to the Sea Hawk. Theirs, and mine.
When they are killed by someone else, they go to a special, small, square room in the bilge of the ship. It normally takes them several days to “come back to life”. After I killed them, I bolted the door shut. Yet, I knew that they wouldn’t stay in there for long. You already know the story, though. Sailed to Padres and got a crew, then Tortuga, and now I’m here.
I led my new crew onto the ship. I needed, a good, strong crew to keep the cursed, original crew in line. My original crew got a bit careless, because they never permanently died. My new crew all seemed impressed by the Hawk. I breathed the old, salty, air that I was used to. The moment one of the new crew stepped on, all who was cursed turned towered them.
I chose that moment to make a short speech.
“Cursed pirates, behold your superiors! I, your Captain who you mutinied against, has brought back some non-cursed pirates to keep you in line! Now, If I hear any reports of you misbehaving or not doing what these pirates say, you’ll have me to answer to! And don’t think I’ll let you off easy. I’ll have you keelhauled!” I got a couple of nervous glanced from the cursed crew, but other than that it went back to what you might call normal. After all, nothing’s normal on a cursed ship!
I showed my superior crew (I really have to find a name for them, don’t I?) to their cabin, and Otter to his private First Mate cabin.
About an hour later, I called both of the crews to the main deck.
“We are preparing to set sail,” I began, “And we need you two to cooperate together. So, we set sail now!” My crews started pulling ropes, hoisting sails, bringing me salted chicken.
Otter came up to me right as I was finishing up my meal. “Captain, where to?”
“Otter, sail toward those dark clouds on the horizon. I have some business to deal with.”
Otter looked puzzled. “What dark clou-” His sentence was cut short by his discovery of the dark clouds on the horizon.
“Otter, I’ll be in my quarters. You’re in charge out here.” I left Otter still standing with that puzzled expression on his face.
When I stepped into my cabin, I immediately was hit by a musty, dusty, wall of gas. It smelled like mildew, moss, dampness, but most of all, it smelled like…
Home. I sank into my old mattress and fell sound asleep.

Looked like it pasted quite well. I hope to get a chapter out every weekend, even if they might be a bit short. Haha, I'm still new to this!
