Aces need faces contest people using macro
I want to enter the aces need face contest (play from midnight to midnight) to win that i-pod touch but I am worried that im going to play all day just to have people use macro and beat me to it. (Not that I think I can win) Do any of you think this is going to be a big problem in this contest and future contests. Any ideas how to stop it?

If you played midnight to midnight (which I doubt you can... nothing against you but no one can do that, it's too boring) you would win hands down. For people using macros, they would lose a lot more hands than someone who is actually there playing; unless they had some sort of card recognizer to tell it the best move to make(which I doubt anyone has).
Some people may be using marcos but if you played manually you would beat them hands down. |
Ok I guess I might as well try. Your probibly right about them losing all the hands and that I can't stay up midnight to midnight. :mickeypiratezd4: I don't really get how macros work so thx for the explanation!

If you really are thinking about staying up playing blackjack for so many hours, think about how angry you would be if/when you find/found out you lost. All the hours playing blackjack could probably be used to make $300 (which is the value of the iTouch) by working somewhere else.

The contest turns into a "who wants the ipod the most" contest, you start out strong and concentrating on winning games as fast as possible, but as you find yourself watching movies on youtube or reading / watching TV. You start slowing way down in your wins. If you concentrate 100% of the time I would garuente you 100% that you will win. And yes depending on your job, you may make $400working for 24 hours, but I wouldn't call laying back in a chair clicking a couple a couple buttons and listening to music a hard job. :smile8:

It's basically torture, seriously. Imagine just sitting there for 24 hours clicking... torture? Yes. |
I don't think I'll waste my time entering anymore. I looked on the most hands of blackjack leaderboard and I figured out that to be them on that day I would have to win almost 2 hands a minute for the whole 24 hours. (Ouch) :pirate7:

Actually, Shhlatkinz is right about how nobody would stay up for 24 hours playing Blackjack...
( I would take his advice... On Toontown, he was the fastest to level from 15 to 129 on Nacho Average Pig. So if he thinks it's too long, then a there is a good chance that everybody thinks it's too long. ) |

If you're really after this iPod and have the time, I would say get yourself real comfy, and if you play for 8 hours straight you probably will win. |

Okay, today that first placed dude who won with 2847 hands definetely cheated somehow...
Someone should send in a report and ask the POTCO staff to check that out. No way did he win all those hands alone. Only other possibile explanation is that his whole family rotated playing blackjack. |
gosh staying up for 24 hours doing nothing but playing blackjack you would most likely go blind, pass out on the floor, die of dehydration(sp?), or start going delisional(sp?) if someone actually did stay up and played blackjack for 24 hours they must;
A. Really really really really want an Itouch B. Have absoultly no life C. Someone paid them to do it D. You have absolutly nothing else to do with your life and if the person that stayed up for 24 hours ended up not winning well that could result in a damaged computer or worse O_o but i give my hats off to those who will stay up and play for 24 hours as far as the macros go they should not be a problem |

I'd rather master my weapons in this game than fish in Toontown. I know it's harder now since the update, and you never go sad while fishing, but if you can fish for hours, and for days and weeks on end for those fish, with only chance on your side if you're lucky, you can master your weapons here and even have more control of when it will happen. As far as the blackjack goes, as monotonous as it would be, Im sure there will be a few who will be spending a lot of time on it. Thats a pretty sweet prize. |

bc as stated above they will lose most of the time as apposed to someone actually being there with a working human brain not a computers hard drive
- human brains are 10X better than a computers processing power - |

Wow, I just randomly teleported to my friend over at the tavern and found you, ScurvyCory there :)

Wow since 7:30 am? Tell us if you win or if you don't then how many hands you lost by. Good luck! :mickeypiratezd4:

Oh my gosh... I can't believe I played for 18 hours manually, to be beated by 2 people who set up hacking programs!
There is no possible way to reach 2,000 or 3,000 without hacking. If I played for 18 hours straight, it's impossible to double or triple my score in just 6 hours that's left in the day. I sent a E-Mail to Disney, hopefully they'll do something. |
I'm sure there will be some cheating macro players, but don't sweat it, you cant macro a game of randomly dealt cards now can you? Random is un-predictable, aka not macro-able. Plus, if you were to play that many times a day to get +2000 hands won, then you must really be addicted. No offense, but I wouldn't sweat it. ;-) For all you who play for 18 hours at a time:
WHY? Get out and get exercise, or a read a book please. |

Actually, since Blackjack requires a great deal of luck, depending on how lucky you are in the hands you get, it may be possible to get that much if you keep at it all day.
Also, a macro can be made that will control your mouse. It is possible that you can create a simple macro program that will click on one place on your screen, and then move the mouse to another place and click again. I think that a human will perform better in this case however because it does not rely on mindless button mashing to do. Macros click on a set pattern, and do not know when a button is ready for them. It will click on it when it cycles around to it again. A human can decide when to hit and when to stay. Raising the chances of winning more hands. A human can get to the buttons faster when paying attention because, as I mentioned before, it's not cycling through a set cycle of clicks. Overall, I'd say the humans have the distinct advantage in this case. |

I guess it's all just luck and you just never know, someone could have several people in their family rotate playing. If you have 4 people and you make everyone sit through 2 hour "shifts" and play all day it's not that big of a deal I guess. I admit I am not playing, I got an ipod touch for Christmas (yay me! :agapirateju3:) but I do check out the leader board and am amazed by the scores some of these people get. I do hope there is a way for Disney to find out if they won those by playing manually or if a macro was used! Personally, I would never have the time or patience to sit there for that long playing blackjack! :laughks2:

If it's only going to belong to one person, then only one person should play for it. |

Yeah. All this is to them is a way to attract more people to the game. I wonder if they'd even care if someone used a macro to win so long as they attracted new subscribers. |
By the way, it is possible to play from midnight to midnight to win that thing. You need determination, an open week (You'll need it to recover.), several pots of coffee or many bottles of Mountain Dew, and to be mostly crazy.
That's how I managed it. :P |
