Drafts are saved but unpublished posts, threads and private messages. Depending on the administrator's settings, the saving of draft messages is either done automatically and invisibly in the background while you are composing a message, or you may be able to save drafts manually using the save draft button at the foot of your message. If the administrator has enabled drafts for your usergroup and the type of message you are writing, you will see the phrase "(Drafts enabled)" or "(Autosave drafts enabled)" immediately above the text box.
If you are using autosaved drafts, they are currently set to be saved every 5 minute(s) after an initial 5 minute(s) delay. When a draft has been created for your post, thread or private message then the option to delete your draft after publishing will be enabled. Every time your message is saved, a notification will briefly flash to the top right of the text box.
How many drafts can I save? How do I load a saved draft?
You can save an extremely generous amount of drafts and there is no maximum size limit, however there is a minimum size limit which the administrator has currently set at 250 characters. You are permitted one saved post per thread, one saved thread per forum and one saved private message reply per recipient, plus one new private message (not a reply) depending on which areas the administrator has enabled drafts for.
Restoring a draft is automatic, all you need to do return to the page on which you were originally writing the message. For instance, if you were composing a reply to Thread A and a draft is saved, simply return to compose a reply to Thread A and your draft post will be there.
How long do saved drafts last for?
The administrator has set drafts to expire 7 day(s) after the time of the last save. You can delete a draft by checking the "Delete draft" option when publishing a post, thread or private message. This is the default option for saved drafts, you must uncheck the option if you wish to retain the draft and return to it later.
