Stealing a guild name without the Guildmaster's Ok?! What to do?

Recently I had my guild name (Partners In Crime) "stolen" without my Ok. To get into detail, someone who used to be in PIC made another character with a guild name that was oh so similar to PIC. I've been asked before if people can make guilds named "Brothers In Crime" or "Partners In Justice" and I've always said ok. What I believe is that imitation is the best form of flattery but when someone uses a guild name without permission from the original owner of the name they are copying, I consider that downright stealing. And plus, he might represent the guild wrongly because this kid isn't exactly GM material, heck, not even officer material.

I think you get the idea. What I'm asking is what should I do? Report it to Disney and have a 1/10000 chance that they will respond or even listen? Or should I just leave it and hope that PIC doesn't get represented wrongly?

Id let it go.. chances are if the player has a bad attitude, the Guild will never gain many, or KEEP many members for long, and the Guild will go the way of the Dinosaurs. =)

I agree with Nelly.

People mimic guild names, pirate names, etc. all the time.

I think the issue at hand is that it is someone you know, and that used to be affiliated with your "PIC" guild. His/her intentions are not likely very honorable in this case. It could easily be an infuriating situation (likely a member you expelled from your group) there is not likely anything that can be done about it.

Its not likely that Disney will do anything about it, as this would reflect them to be a referee between players having civil/social disagreements.

I had this dude do that to me once..
He was in my guild, left it, and made a guild called Lads And Wrench.
Well, he annoyed me alot that day and I was in no mood for games.
I asked him why and he quit his guild right away and rejoined mine.
Anyway, we know you are the origanal GM of PIC, and ill tell my friends you are.

Zeppers, a "Ranter" is a member of The Pirate's Parley forum group - basically the forum for stepping up on the soapbox and well, ranting. You can join this group by going into your UserCP, group membership and choosing to join that group.

Yeah, that would annoy me too. I don't think there is much you can do about it though. I don't know why someone would want to copy another guild's name. I would want something original. It is a cool name though, so I can see why someone would like it.

Thanks to all who have posted, I think I'll just leave it alone because it's just as Zeppers said, they might just consider this a cilvil disagreement and might have to take severe action against it.
