Since Im level 50 - I dont care who hits my enemies - just hit what Im hitting so we all get a shot. I miss exubia. =( Was always nice and quiet... and when Im on, we are usually there to loot.
I DESPISE when guilds get attitudes - it tends to make me want to stick around just for the sake of having them stress over my presence - since frankly - they can't 'steal' my rep - and hitting anything Im hitting will just help me by wiping it out sooner. =D Im definitely the wrong person to try and 'displace' for the sake of Guild rights. LOL Last time it happened, I just got the blunderbuss out, and went on with my business! =D |

By which you mean, griefing? That's wrong. Don't do that, it is a lot of peoples pet peeve.

There is a time to stand your ground, and a time to just leave.
A good time to leave is if there is just some jerk thats running around griefing people. If thats the case, I will see if I can outwit them, and if they are just too stubborn to do anything but yell out insults, I leave. Its not worth my time. If I am training on Lyze of Kiel (my lv 24 pirate), and I get some jerk who won't let me train in piece, I will stand my ground. I will tell him to let me be, and to go find his own kills. If he or she is some guy that doesn't know how to chat, I will just leave. However, if he or she is being a jerk about it, and getting all "Your not the boss of me!" "You leave first!" "Shut up!" on me, you know what I do? I log out, go on Davy, find the person, and pull out Mr. Grand Blunderbuss. That person won't get more than one hit on the person before I blow out their brains with my Blunderbuss. Perhaps people may think that thats mean on my part, but I think it is necessary for myself, and to err, teach that person a little lesson. |

Ditto. I tend to make people eat their own words, (see the I'm Captain of the Ship thread) and do it efficiently. For instance, if someone tells me, "You're not the boss of me! Shut up!" I'll say, "Well that contradicts. If nobody is the boss of anybody in the game, then why should you order me to shut up?" Silence... Usually I get back something like, "Shut up, noob!" (Usually with the n00b thing. Gah, leetspeek...) after a few minutes. And THAT is how you know you've won. I call it "word fencing." And I am not too bad at it.

See? This is why it is so good to be a good arguer! You can totally destroy someone without throwing a single insult at them! Its my favorite technique, because it is just so amusing!!!

I think the biggest problem with the increase in rude players is the environment at home.
Let's face it, forty years ago if you got in a fight with another kid, you'd not only get in trouble with your own parents, but with the parents that saw you do something you're not supposed to do. Our stands of punishment have decreased since then, and from my point of view, it's only getting worse. Oh well, all I can say is outwit the bullies, because they're not smart, and if they care about picking on you so much they follow you, exit the game for a while. Games are fun, you shouldn't have to put up with arrogant people, that's no fun. |

I say, "Arrogance is plentiful, get used to it." Learn to deal with it, and to know when to grin and bear it. This goes for the REAL WORLD and the game.

Ive had experience with rude people. For example, during an invasion, a pirate says to me while he is knocked out and I'm reviving him: "u stu pod". That is speedchat plus language for stupid. Instead of taking it personally, I walked away to another spot to fight.

Ik!!! I miss a bunch of those quiet, pure, undisturbed servers... Battira, Exubia, Deseano, Romana, Kokoago... All taken away. BTW, I wonder why these servers were removed with a bunch of others, anyways.

The only thing I can actually do sadly is attack the enemy and let them attack and get KO. I paid gold for my tonics, some pirates dont belong in some places like a lvl 10 in Tormenta. I know its mean but thats the only tactic to do.

Aye. Usually, what I do if someone is a lv 1 in Level 50 land (or any out of balance level ratio) I will revive them once, and tell them that they don't belong here. If they are smart, they will leave. Otherwise, when they die again. Hey! I pay gold for my tonics! Can't waste them on people that don't have the common sense to listen!

I did that once...
Walked into tormenta using god glitch... Worked for a while... Then it stopped, and I got attacked by a level 50. Last time I went in tormenta till I was level 29 with a mastered cutlass... LOL |

I dont think so. Did you read my whole post? When Im killing enemies for loot, and people show up, and start in - Guilds particularly - and act like I should leave.... I CERTAINLY will stay. But, you say its griefing? Do you suggest when you are playing and people show up and act like they own the server, the smaller party should leave regardless? Um. Nope. Im staying. If only to prove a point. |

And, maybe the SMALLER party should join the larger one. If you're mastered, why worry about rep stealing? If you decide to make an issue of it, than it's griefing. You said:

You're not understanding her post. This is what she means, or so I interpreted it. If she is just looting some enemies, and a bunch of other people come in AFTER her, and yell at her to get out, even though she was there first, that is mean.
Was that what you meant Nelly? |
