I highly doubt you would have to. To sum it up to what I believe is happening: We get more inventory room on top of current inventory, and new weapons on top of old one that have a chance to provide a new ability to your current characters.... I got right.... right?

( it didn't say ALL of the additions) I'm sure they are working on/ have ready the next story chapter and i'm sure all this 'other stuff' is needed before we progress to the next chapter. (No truer word said about it not being a 'I worship everything D does here' fansite. lol) Fair winds Mates!

This is from the March 2009 Newsletter
On the Horizon ... We hear you! Pirates like to collect stuff, so naturally being able to carry more things - and possibly even trading these things with other players - is something we know all Pirates are very interested in. In response to your comments for a better inventory system, we're currently working on major improvements to Inventory. When these changes come online in the middle of the year, you'll have more places to store effects like clothing, hats, and other items. Plus, we'll be releasing new items and effects to customize your Pirate. Keep an eye on the Newsletter for more information about this update! I guess they meant the middle of next year LOL http://piratesonline.go.com/v3/#/gam..._diary_13.html |

Developers Diary #14 April 17th 09 also says....
Inventory. Our inventory system is still undergoing a dynamic overhaul. As I've said before, Pirates by their very nature collect stuff, so having more slots for storage, is definitely something Pirates could use, and of course that will mean new clothing, hats, and other items to accessorize your Pirate. This was put back it seems while they worked on game performance. But it was mantioned again in the next Developers Diary #15. (see my last post for quote.) Things cant always be brought out when they say (things beyond their control happen) But it has always been coming. And now it is upon us. Whats the point of criticising it before we know how its gonna play out.

Well of course they changed the date ie its now coming soon! I could tell you the next story quest will be coming out next month only to move the date back again and again whatever keeps those players exited and paying till we figure it out keeps the money rolling in and the game open!

Mamma mia, this really turned in to a really long discussion. Might as well throw in my two cents while the bonfire is still lit..
The way I see it: just be glad that its here and on the way. I'll admit, I was pretty hypocritical of how long it actually took them to get it done, but at least now I have the satisfaction of knowing its quite close. Can't always hang on past mistakes, aye? I honestly don't care about how much I'm paying compared to other MMO's (which, btw, POTCO has one of the lowest monthly charges out there) or how late we got this content compared to others, and other stuff. As I previously stated, I'm just glad its here. This game keeps me entertained, whether through its gaming aspects or its social ones. After all, MMO's are just games there for entertainment. And if I had to rate POTCO based on how entertaining it is, it gets a 10/10. I realize how frustrating it must be on how limiting the game is to Basics. Trust me, I was Basic a few weeks ago, and I wanted to tear my hair out. But you need to take this from Disney's point of view - this game to them is a company. Company's make you money. And if you give basics more stuff... well, your losing money! Which is why many people see basic access as so limiting. This makes new pirates wanna experience all parts of the game. And when people get Unlimited, then Disney gets (you guessed it) money! I'm not saying I agree with this, you just gotta realize their stance on this argument. After all, if you only hear the Prosecution's testimony in a court case, and not the Defense's, chances are, you'll lean towards the Prosecution. Back on topic... I'm excited to see how this is gonna work out. I don't need ends on ends of clothing pieces, yet 3 pieces of clothing was kinda frustrating, especially when you have to sell one of your favorite pieces to buy something else. So I'd say 6 is a fair amount... well, at least, thats what I, a male player may say. Not so sure about the girls though ![]() I'm actually glad they didn't have us do another quest. After all, after 2 sets of weapon quests, I'm sure they might run out of ideas by the 3rd. After all, its more exciting to be uncertain WHEN your gonna get your loot, other than just grinding through easy tasks (if your in the higher levels, at least.) A higher gold cap? I can barely reach the current cap with all the spending I do! I think in order to increase the gold cap successfully, they need to add more stuff to actually spend it on - the ability to carry more ships (or even new ships, or customization ) new clothing, jewelry, etc. etc.And lastly, I'm really excited that you'll actually be able to have different weapons than everybody else (especially that El Patron sword!) You know, it kinda gets drab and repetitive when every single level 45 has the same sword. With this new edition, it makes the game more exciting, more colorful. Now, you'll WANT to find those bigger and badder weapons (gotta catch em all!) This update is definately going to have a HUGE impact on the game, PvE, PvP, and social-wise. No matter how it ends up working, I'm still looking foward to it

Oh and btw what about my pirate that already has 42 clothing items under the current inventory system where is his expansion! If it is possible to have 42 under the current system then they are just dressing up what is already there.

I had heard that Pirates had started this system during the summer, but the reason they didn't release was because of its higher levels. They were probably working on it to allow us more freedom with the update, and not have to mess with starting over. Sounds logical, but you know, Disney is (iREALLY!) slow at fixing, and making updates.... But I do believe this guy knows what he's saying, and he definitely knows what he wants. The gold is not really used for much more than a few select clothing items, and other items that your character can wear in the game. I would love to see new ships and ship parts that were promised before as well, but I would really like to buy more than a few weapons. Beyond buying ammo and your basic beginner weapons in the Gun Shop and Cutlass shop, there is just nothing more to see when you go into either one of the shops. The game has been rather, unsatisfying due to those points, but they will hopefully help to remedy this issue with the weapon shops. |

Quote From Crazypirate :
( Too lazy to actually quote it - plus the quote would be long ) In your case, it wouldn't be much since you have gotten many rare drops ( Or so it seems that way ). Most people usually have 4 of each section. 4x7=28. In this case, the Clothing Inventory boost would be very useful. Again, in your case, you broke the cap - meaning the drops you got still went into your pocket. Edit: I'm sure, Babidi, that it MIGHT be 42 of each item. That would be around 11 pages of clothes ( 4 On each - 2 on the remaining page ). I soubt it'll be like that, though, as there aren't many clothes of each type unless you want to make a rainbow of them. |

Considering 28 was the actual amount of clothing we were intended to carry, 42 is a nice amount. Granted those of us who took up quests, got item drops, and free items may have reached the cap. But at least we don't have to limit our closet to three items in order to buy something new, just limit our total items to 42.. assuming that's how things work.

CrazyPirate - I think you may be taking this too literal ... how about thinking about the pirates that would rather have 25 shirts ... 10 pants and could care less which shoes they wear ... this will allow you to customize more and actually select what you want instead of being locked into having only 4 of everything. Get it? I think the inventory is being expanded in terms of freedom more so than individual item count. I for one can't wait and look forward to seeing this Live ... (hopefully soon)
