Back to the Flatulent Fizz promotion and the question raised here seems to be Why would Disney Potco waste time and resources on this promotion instead of something else?
IMHO the answer is ... Because it was easy. Already an in game item, available to basic and unlimited alike. Easy, cheap humor. |

But they could have made it some VERY powerful or rare potion right? Either way it was just a promotion for people to know of the latest updates... but I detest Flatuent Fizz. Okay I'm going back to "hibernation", finally I think...

Why would Disney do this? It Pirates of the Caribbean Online not Pirate Who Do Not Use Gas-X Online. This "Potion" would be better on toontown in my opinion (farts are crude humor and most kid cartoons have crude humor in it). I do know this is a kids game but Disney should have some respect to the older crowd also. (Pirates of the Caribbean was a PG-13 movie...).
Edit: I read through the thread, both sides have very good points. However as a roleplayer this is a serious immersion killer. Maybe farting free servers or something? (Beside the dead servers of course) Last edited by Freedomna; 06-10-2010 at 04:38 PM.. |

The code is redeemable by basic members. But the potion added to the basic member's potion inventory cannot be used, until that pirate account goes unlimited.
When they do another "free unlimited weekend" there will be a lot of farting going on. I can picture kids showing their parents the benefits of "unlimited access" now - I'm sure that will make the money just pour right in. |

Annoying? Sometimes, yes. But you have to learn to live with it. If it bothers you while you are in a certain server, common sense dictates you should leave that server. Or ignore it. IMHO some of these potions are alright, especially the weapons potions and my favorite, Ghastly Visage, but burping and farting? Not so much... But you should always remember that POTCO is marketed towards kids, and, for some reason, they think fart jokes are more entertaining than the old "penny behind the ear" trick. Just my two-cents worth...

Why would Disney waste time on "Flatulent Fizz?" Because those designing the game think it's funny; it reflects their sense of humor. But let's take a look at the RULES OF CONDUCT, #7. "...you agree that you will not Distribute any Submission that: (a) is defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, or an invasion of a right of privacy of another person; (b) is bigoted, hateful, or racially or otherwise offensive; (c) is violent, vulgar, obscene, pornographic or otherwise sexually explicit; or (d) otherwise harms or can reasonably be expected to harm any person or entity;..."
Throughout these four pages, there are those, including me, who find "Flatulent Fizz" both offensive and vulgar, thus violating Disney's own Rules of Conduct. |
