"Potion making" is tedious and boring!
The "Ship repair" is just as bad! Both of these turns the game into a more "SOLO" experience. Most of the last 8 or so updates have been designed to bring the pirates together to make them work as teams, now these updates are strictly solo. The limited amount of high level drops, and the lack of co-ordination of the drops, has done nothing but irritate people. I know some people who have gotten 3 or even 4 El Patron swords on the same pirate, have 12 or more different Relic weapons, and other people who can't seem to get a single Relic or Famous weapon drop at all. The clothing changes have not been all that great. When you bought clothes, you could match up your wardrobe and choose the colors you wanted. Three shirts and 2 pair of pants made 6 different outfits. With the drops, you can't choose colors anymore, and the clothing has become nothing but a mismatch of hodgepodge items. I sold 11 items before I had an empty space to pick up dropped items. That means that my total clothing inventory went DOWN by 10 items thanks to the update. It seems that Disney has been throwing in everything including the kitchen sink. Friday night there was the new "Mini-games", an invasion on PR, and an EITC fleet, all happening AT ONCE! I have never seen an invasion and a fleet at the same time before. I also would think that defeating Jolly Roger during an invasion would yield a drop. Not a single drop during an invasion. Bummer. It would be interesting to have to decide whether to run and pick up the loot, risking dying, while fighting an invasion. Just some random thiughts!

ok, here are my thoughts on this next update. I like most of the potions themselves, and I kind of like the potion game, it can get interesting. Ship repair is so-so, it's nice to have anyway. I like the new loading screen look! Going back to what Basil said, I can completely understand why people would be upset over losing clothes. I would be too. I like the fleet during an invasion thing. It makes it much more challenging.

I'm slowly coming around to the potions. I am NOT all that adept at the potion making game, so it's been a grind.
However, I used the level II potion that increases damage from firearms just as JR was landing at PR. then, using a Famed Relic Musket with level 5 silver shot I was able to do over 10K in damage per round. For the first time, I could actually see his HP meter drop when I hit him. That was enough to convince me that the potions are going to be a huge benefit. Has anyone tried any of the other potions in these scenarios? |

I haven't seen all of the new things in the game, then again i'm basic at the moment.
But the new weapons are great so far, the potion making isn't the best but many of the potions are great, and fun. The ship repairs are good, ecspecially for privateering, but I don't like how sometimes it gets glitched up to where you can't finish a certain repair mini-game so you have to wait until your sunk or you port to repair again. |
