LOL, Guess you're right on that. Sounds real piratey though.
I am still hoping for some real content, too. This game was my intro to MMO's, has some strong points and great people playing. Just expressing dissapointment, I suppose. |

That one wouldn't be a bad idea actually. With this one, we could properly "express" our gratitude to the GM's during one of their events for the lack of a proper second story chapter. We would be sent to jail after doing this, but maybe they would start getting the message. Maybe.

Or perhaps a wedgie as a special attack.

You should all come to Guild Wars. Yeah, it has its share of immature players, but they are SO easy to be rid of!!! NO rep stealing. No drop hogging. I and alot of other ex pirates are LOVING it.

And I have yet to meet a family that thinks in any way shape or form that farting and poor manners are acceptable. Quote:

You guys are missing the whole point of what I am trying to say. I am saying why waste time in such promotions instead of really trying to improve the game. Because I just don't see how farting is going to make POTCO a better game. |

I have to agree with a lot of people on here.
Farting isn't going to bring an end to the game. My god, its not like its mustard gas, now is it? Its just a silly noise the will be able to amuse the little ones for a while. Heck, I find it pretty funny! No need to over act about it. Sure, it doesn't fit in to most of Disney's values, but lets not forget: Values are sentimental, but money is physical. This is a way to keep the kids amused, because lets face it, the least thing kids want to learn about is how to politely ask a skeleton before you chop its head off, at least not in this aspect of Disney society. (And to be fair, the Imagination ride in Epcot does have fart jokes in it. Just had to throw that out there )Quote:

Captain Del, you've hit the nail on the head (or whatever the saying is lol). I completely, and 100% agree on everything in that post.
I mean obviously there are more important things that need to be done, but simple advertising isn't a hard task, and it is nice to see an email from the people at PotCO at least once in a while. Also, they didn' t spend any time on the potion itself, it's just the flatulent fizz with no new animations/details at all. So, I don't find it a problem that they spent time on this. All they had to do was link a potion to a code and send an email to all of their players, telling them the code. Idk, lets just move on from this topic and dream for tomorrow's newsletter

Anyway...it's fart jokes. Not the end of the world. The only things that have made me angry this week have happened ON PLANET EARTH. None of them involve intestinal gas. FAKE intestinal gas. |

I think this has been blown out of proportion. There is no need to tear apart one another's posts here. I believe we have all stated our opinions on the matter.
No, this is obviously not a problem that will cause the end of the world, nor is it the biggest deal in the game of POTCO, but if some people want to be disgruntled about an addition to a game they play, I don't see the problem. I really don't understand why it warrants such sarcasm. Obviously real world problems hold more prominence in our lives, but of course, this is not a forum about real world problems. This is the last I'm going to comment on this, because I really don't want to take this any further. I've said what I've wanted to say... And I've expressed my dissatisfaction on the thread topic. I'll leave it at that. |

Um, yeah, it's just a fart potion. If you don't want it don't use it, an leave it at that. For me, I use it to amuse my nieces an nephew. They are young, they think it's funny. That's fine with me.
That said I do think it might have been nicer of them to give a free ghastly visage, which even basics can use. |

lol, kicks to the groin, a pirate can dream...
Figured I sneak back in before the door gets closed. Yes, Disney stands for entertainment that all ages can enjoy. And while Disney diligently maintain its core brand, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has always been an odd, yet interesting, exception. From the ride to the films to the game, POTC is all about drunken rogues and rapscallions stealing and running amuck. So if your knickers are in a bunch regarding lack of manners or a fart potion in the game, maybe you're playing a game that is not right for you. I am just hoping with the recent stronger focus on the younger player, they don't go all PC like they did to the ride back in the 90s.

I'm actually interested to hear about other MMORPG's people play. I was very resistant to try any game when I was heavily into Potco, but I 've found another one that I like after getting a trial from a friend.

There is an entire forum for "Other Games" here, >> http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...splay.php?f=24
Just keep the discussions within the rules and boundaries of POF. I would recommend moving any discussions about these other games to that forum, and not mess up the "News" thread with this rhetorical discussion.
