Anyway I'd say Black Pearl has all of the others beat, its the original, its more piratey, has the best jack intro (sinking ship>blk pearl on sand dune), aztec curse, lots of Norrington and Jackiness.

I've seen them all and the first one is still my favorite. I think it shows all the characters at their best. I worry that the next one I heard Depp agreed to film won't even come close to the magic of the first one. My fingers are crossed.

THe first was by far the best.. it portrayed a realistic (if that is possible) pirate like setting... The 2nd and 3rd were amazing but they just couldn't beat the first...
You can never beat the classic...... |

The third was kinda cheesy. I liked the second the most, because it is the one with the ending least convenient. I personally don't mind the cliffhanger, and actually thought the movies could have ended there (Barbossa was back; why couldn't Jack as well?). The end to the cliffhanger (3rd movie) contains too many elements though that were foreign to the first and second movie for my liking, not that I didn't like it though.

I love the first, best, because it's our introduction to the characters, and Jack seemed very well-fleshed out.
The second had more comic elements and, to me, was a joy-ride. The third was (again, in my humble opinion) much more of a character-study. I appreciated, especially, the story arcs of Will and Izzy. They reached their natural conclusion in this one. And, hey, I'm not one to complain about multiple Jacks. ![]() All of that being said, I DO look forward to POTC 4. With reservations. As much as I love the character of Captain Jack, I think he and Barbossa only have one outing left in them that can be believable. And I can only hope that Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio (the writers) will be true to the characters and give us one last rousing adventure to go out on. I think the dynamic of Captain Jack and Captain Barbossa is one that can be revisited one more time, and the story of their pursuit of the Fountain of Youth could be great fun. |
