Ty Sarah for clarifying. It is nice to know and will be a great help in the future.

Also thanks for your support of the Alliance. I believe we shall have many macro-free moments to post in the very near future.

hmmmm

Hey, this sounds like fun, is there a Notoriety minimum? I am still low level but working on getting up to 20 at least. I may need to try and Guild up with a group to play with you all.

one question though,

Maggie, you have stated Disney's TOS many times but like in this sentence
"Violations of Disney's TOS will result in consequences. These can include but are not limited too: Written Warning, Suspension from the Alliance, Termination from the Alliance."
it makes it sound a little to me like you are wielding or can wield Disney's hand of punishment like they are going to come down on us in your SVS Guild or group or something like that.
sorry if that sounds harsh, it just appears like that. maby you can wield their hand or you have a insider thing with them, just checking, I don't want to get spanked from Disney if I make a innocent mistake while participating.
thanks for listening.

John

Thanks for your post and I am glad to answer any question(s) you have or might have in the future.

There is no Notoriety limit. But please do understand, that many of the Guilds that will be involved mostly sail SVS in POTCO. That is "Ship versus Ship". Spain or France. For many, it is all they do, such as myself. We find combat at sea to be more rewarding when tested against other pirates who dont turn undead. Many of these pirates will have cannon/sail lvl's of 20-30. Most will be in the 25-30 range. However, if you are willing to put the work in on lvl'ing those skills I am positive a guild will welcome you with open arms.

As far as weilding Disney's hand, Nope! They weild it when given evidence (sometimes). The things that might get anyone into trouble (seeing as most have already been in trouble, I cant think of any that haven't) would be the use of a macro or two, glitching, using a VIOP. These are all expressly forbidden by Disney and the TOS because no matter how you explain it, it's cheating. I can say with utmost sincereity, if you cheat, you are no longer welcome. This goes for anyone.

I hope this answers your questions and please feel free to respond at anytime for any reason. I'll answer back as soon as possible.

clarification

Thank you for explaining that Maggie.

I must ask then, given your parameters are stated as follows;
Quote:
".....the use of a macro or two, glitching, using a VIOP. These are all expressly forbidden by Disney and the TOS because no matter how you explain it, it's cheating."
Although I agree that using a third party device to play the game that alters the game play and the code is cheating, like Macros that induce a action or a device or code that alters the way we play but a voip program is not a thing that plays the game nor alters it. It does not affect the game whatsoever.
I do see in Disney's TOS where it says we agree to not distribute any submissions that may violate section 7 regarding the rules of conduct. (meaning, talk about it or promote it or discuss where you can get it or get on one's VOIP program)

Can you let me know where you see that using a VOIP like Ventrilo or Skype or Team Speak is stated it is cheating?
Since your saying this is cheating, I want to clear this up so I will not receive the consequences you claimed Disney would do to me if i use a VOIP and I do not want to violate your rules in the SVS competitions.

Thanks for your help Maggie

Glad to be of assistance John.

First let me say, No where did I say Disney would be having you or anyone else suffer the consequences. Those will be distributed by the Alliance.

As far as VIOP's are concerned: although many see it as a non-factor, we see it as cheating. Our choice.

It seems perhaps this is not the best place for your gaming interests and we wish you gentle seas and hearty bounty. Thank you for your interest and good lluck.

Thumbs up ahhh

Ohhh.. ok, my bad, I need to pay attention more, perhaps I missed what you were trying to convey.
Your so right Maggie, I suspect many probably have got into trouble before and we know what happen when we violate Disney's TOS
and how serious they are if we misrepresent them in our words and actions.
*Whew*... I thought you meant Disney's TOS said
"...cheats who violate Disney's TOS. This includes VIOP, which is expressly forbidden in the TOS." and "...things prohibited by Disney's TOS , such as macros and VIOP." .. those words are what I was refering to, it sounded like you were quoting Disney there but perhaps that isn't what you meant.

I just wanted to get this right since this sounds like a blast, I think this is for me.
We can have a blast taking them other teams down, Yay!
Can you and i team up some time too and maby you can tell some of your other guild friends so, ok, i'll keep a watch out for the next meetings, sounds super fun!
Thanks for your instructions.

We are still in the planning stages, of course, but with 5 guilds on board it is looking promising. Everyday new suggestions are received and if not already stated in this thread, they will be presented here.

So keep reading and replying.

Post Adhy

You are absolutly correct. However, in the meantime we will just have to police ourselves and know we have honor, unlike those who NEED a macro or four so that they can feel that they actually have some self-worth.

These are the kind of issues the Admirals Alliance hopes to not only address, but overcome. This Alliance wont be run by a puppet regime whose strings are pulled from the dark depths. The Alliance will be open with honesty, truth, and integrity at its core.

Is SVS Alliance basically the same thing as TBC and the Team vs Team SVS combined or have I misunderstood the meaning?

You have misunderstood the meaning . This is in no way or form like any other group.

We do not condone nor will we allow macro-using cheats to perforate our seas.

The Alliance will not be the voice of one guild , but a collection of honorable guilds with an equal voice.

The Alliance will NOT be ruled by one persons whim. If we schedule meetings they take place, regardless of who can or cannot be there.

With that being addressed, we also are interested in non-svs pirates and guilds becoming involved. It is the intention that this opportunity to sail with the best SVS'ers in POTCO will open a new facet of the gaming experience for them.
