One, when selling things BE CAREFUL!!!! (Sold James Barbossa pants somehow right off him without noticing.)

Two, when searching for the Sword of El Patron if using Darkhart inevitably someone will come and shoot him out from under you with 2 shots of a blunderbuss and laugh at you. Or else the entire server, Darkhart, thralls, even Neban will give you nothing at all.

When making potions:

If the potion you are making needs everything of the same color, i.e., all blue or all purple, that is the color that you will get the least of during the game.

This one may not make a lot of sense, but it's true:
It takes 3 of one type to combine to the next higher level of that color, but if you can get 4 together at once, you will get 2 of the next higher level, and if you can link 5, you will get three of the next higher level. You are better off not linking 3 at a time.

When the hints say you can press R to run and chat at the same time, DON'T believe them.. You will inevitably end up running into a wall, off a bridge, into the ocean, or into some gray space you cannot explain.

Maybe people should start reposting things exactly 1 year old? (Some are slightly different - the very first post no longer applies for several reasons/fixes/changes.)

My VIL: The NPCs know all the glitches, watch out for bosses running through walls.

I did get killed by neban when he ran through a wall and stabbed me. I was sad.

Occasionally when I try to throw grenades, my pirate freezes up during the throw. He won't release the grenade. Escape and the "F" keys don't seem to help. I have found that, switching to pistol, and firing a few shots, undoes this sticking action.

You sure you weren't out of one particular ammo type? ESC and F1 get me out of almost every type of "stuck" in this game.

It's called a "Cut Scene" because you can cut it out!

Be frugal when spending your skill points! Only spend them when you have to, and only on skills you really need right now. Keeping your skill levels low guarantees you high rep earnings, even when you reach high level Notoriety.

IF you reach the Gunner part of the Pearl quest before you have the ability to teleport to Padres, then you are doing to much questing, and not enough weapons leveling. Truely, you should be level 30 (have your staff) before you do the Gunner part of the Pearl quest.

Take all pirates recommendations with a grain of salt. Thier desire to help, does not make thier answers the right answers for you.

When your first pirate is turning 40 and you want a cool screen shot to remember it by.. DO NOT hit f12 first to clear all the chat from the screen. All you get is a pic of your pirate holding a weapon on an empty screen. lol
