When your Guildmasters warn you about spamming, try to keep your mouth shut unless its Important!

No matter how annoying, frustrating, and eternal the Pirate Life quest is, do it with your baby pirate anyway! It gives excellent rep and money, levels your sailing, cannons, and a ton of your weapons. I know, I've been working this quest almost daily since I was a lowly 14. Kat is nearly finished and is now almost a 24! This is one of the few side quests I have taken, so much of that goes to the Pirate Life quest!
Longer than normal VIL but a point that needed to be made. |

Buy all the clothes and Tats you want before you do the side quest or the quests will fill all of the available spots and you will not be able to buy anything without selling your hard earned quest items!

dont pile up your skill points on combo attacks because that will just make leveling that much harder ;-)

In response to spending your skill points.
With very few exceptions, Only put only 1 point on each skill. Attune and heal, broadsides, and maybe a few of the passives get more than one point each. All the others, the more points you put into them, the harder it is to level. Keeping your damage low guarantees you high rep per kill. 3 of my 4 fully mastered pirates had over 80 unspent points when they hit level 40, and one had 106 unspent spoints when he fully mastered. Even after fully mastering, I kept an average of 5 points per weapon/skill in reserve, for future needs.

You know your Gm is crazy when he gives every new recruit a free crate.
You know your Co-Gm is crazy when he goes along with it and wears Capris. |

If you are a 35, do NOT try a Thrall Captain. One bladestorm and down you will go! But boy will it be funny!

Regardless of how many times people revive you, you'll still be killed again.

When you know holiday quest events are coming up there are some things you need to remember to do before the quest is offered.
1. Finish some of the minor quests that you already have started. 2. Delete quests that you accepted but didn't start. You can't delete a money quest you already started. 3. Don't take any of the money quests (such as the ones from Josie or Sam Seabones). A full quest log will prevent you from being able to accept the special event quests. I learned this the hard way with the Father's Day double rep event. Some of my pirates were not allowed to pick up the quest due to a full to-do list.

This may seem obvious and may have been said before but it bears repeating...
Know what your pirate can and can not do! Scuse the explanation here. My main pirate did not start her life with DW. Early on she fought alone a lot. I learned what she could and could not do by experience. I was a level 11 taking on 15s on the wall at Fort Charles. Because I knew I could! I learned by playing. I knew what each of her weapons could do and her limits. I pushed them but only learned more. In light of the invasions, and all the people getting knocked out right and left, remember what your pirate can do! This leads to VIL 2. Close range with Jolly Roger is not a good idea! So you get a hit or 2 in. Then ya die. I find by hanging out at the very fringe of his wither type attack I take little to no damage but can shoot, grenade, or flaming skull at JR for massive damage. (Personally I prefer flaming skull, but that's just me.) Point is ranged attacks keep you alive and fighting longer. (Ya, know it was supposed to be short, just needed explination.) |

In going along with what was just said, I offer this little tidbit that has been my motto for quite some time... not that i ever take my own advice...
Note to self: Do not try to take on things that find me more appealing as a shish kabob... |
