Guild quest is on for tomorrow! Get ready for an adventure, mates! The quest will be launched at 4pm Eastern, 3pm Central, 2pm Mountain, 1pm Western, and 9pm (I think) for our Icelandic friends; and will continue for a good chunk of the day. If you can't make it, or can only drop in for a few, we will fill you in here and on the Guild Site.
The Guild Site will also give other info if you are missing some. Good Luck Crew!

Guild quest is TODAY, in about 2 hours! Be there! I also have a more detailed story line behind this whole incident about Captain Oberon... (credits to Witchdoctor for writing this)
The presence of voodoo isn't as strong as it once was. Even those who channel the energy of the dark force feel have felt it diminishing. Tia Dalma, Macomo, Romany Bev, Heartless Rosaline, even our own Witchdoctor Dan. All have felt it drying up. Hope, however, has never been in short supply. Other guilds have tried to recover artifacts that would act as a "battery" of sorts in the hands of a skilled master of voodoo. They tried... and failed. I can still hear a few of them screaming at the moment of their death. However, those were OTHER guilds. We aren't just some guild, now are we? We are the Shadow Sorcerors! And with the daring cunning of our leadership we have found a realtively easy way to restore the voodoo, make some quick cash, and make ourselves the most powerful pirates in the sea. Who knows, maybe we can restore the Golden Age? The task? Simple: Steal a Sword from a dead man. But before you whip one out of your holster and say that you've found it, just as to save yourselves a trip, you should know something about the Sword. The man was a powerful, powerful Captain. His name: Captain Lazlo Oberon. Even more powerful than his knowledge of the sail was his knowledge of the Dark Arts, of voodoo. His mastery of the Doll and the Staff would make Tia Dalma look like our pitiful drunken excuse for a Witchdoctor. And this man, he had dreamt of a sword. One fashioned from the fires of Hell and used to defeat the Devil himself in a fencing tourney. This sword had the ability to channel energies that would make a normal man explode, and scatter his pieces all over the Carribbean. It had gained the name: The Sword of Darkness. Only one man knew this sword existed, and that was Captain Oberon. And he was Hell-bent on making it his own. He turned to piracy to wield it, and the man risked life and limb, and the gallows to find it. He sank more ships than any person living on this Earth could count if they were all taught by the Royal Society. He finally found information leading to the sword in the form of Aztec writings in the jungles of Isla Perdida. The petroglyph showed an image of a sword, blazing with fire and brimstone, slicing through the thick armor of the Conquistadores by the hundreds. Another image showed a Conquistador captain gripping the sword, in the background a hundred Aztec archers had pulled their bows back. The final image showed the captain go down in a hail of arrows. Ironically, the skeleton of a Conquistador was slumped over a sacrificial table next to the petroglyph, a sword lying at the base. His ribs were cut open, a grisly reminder of the fate he suffered. Oberon picked up the sword, and noticed it glowing with energy. Using an incantation passed down through the ranks of only the most elite Gypsies in the Carribbean, Oberon shot a plume of fire from the top, 100 meters high. He knew that he would not die at the hands of some Navy swine now. He knew that all those years of putting himself on the EITC's blacklist and piling death penalty after death penalty would never catch up to him. The sword made Oberon invincible; gave him the ability to turn himself, his ship, and his crew invisible; and even the power to teleport an entire fleet of pirate ships from Florida to Singapore in an instant. The heathen Aztec gods feared Oberon. The Sword of Darkness that he possessed was an object of envy and terror to them. They came together in the crust of the Earth herself, meeting to discuss Oberon's fate. They struck hom down with a disease that was incurable, and so terrible it could kill an invincible man. Oberon died a week later, under the care of his fateful crew. He was buried with this sword, his lifetime earnings, and many other voodoo trinkets and ornaments that should shut up Dan for the ride back. All we gotta do is find his burial place in Padres Del Fuego and take his loot. Simple enough, eh? Now lets go find that Sword and Spellbook! |

I suck.
Guys, I have to reschedule the quest. Something in real life came up. I'm really, really sorry. I was looking forward to it a lot. I was thinking we could do it Sunday the 30th, 4pm Eastern, 9pm Icelandic? Sorry about that... EDIT: Forget that date. Not enough people can make it. I'll have to plan it into March, because next weekend is the meeting, and I am extremely busy in February. Speaking of the meeting, PM your Sorceror of the Month votes please. No Savvy! I forbid you from ranking! Ranking is a horrible, horrible thing! It is like... EVIL! No really, don't rank. We got onto the leaderboards by doing what we do every day, and we don't want to waste our time ranking.
Just do what you do all the time, and your efforts will pay off.

I still stand by my earlier notion that I HATE the concept of ranking, but I'm willing to do it for a guild. Hearing this, or rather, seeing this, is a relief. xD Congrats again, SS! And great job, PNC and EO!
