ive had this happen 3 times now. I have a Galleon and low lvls on light sloops seem to think it right to jump on my ship. Its very annoying and ive reported 2 out of 3 for "rude behavior"

First time i was finishing off a flag ship, and the low lvl was there when i boarded, and got smoked almost right away (which was justice in my eyes). Second time was the same, but i hadnt grappled the flag ship yet when i saw them coming to visit, and when i started shooting hooks i noticed my ship started to move! Needless to say i was alittle upset, luckly though i got a hook on before they had moved my ship to far away. We boarded, and again that person was destoyed by the flagships crew.

The third was today, i warned the person 3 times, if they did not leave my ship i will report them for rude behavior. they ignored me, and started to send me crew invites. I reported, and told them, he still ignored me. Then, when my ship was weakened and i was trying to get to a port, he asked if he could steer! i said no and again told them to leave, then they headed for a cannon and started shooting at high lvl ships. luckly he had no idea what he was doing and never even came close to hitting a ship. And i eventually landed at cutthroats and basically marooned him there.

it is NOT right to board someones ship without there permission. I doubt reporting people does anything, and its not something i normally, or like, to do.

My take on this is that they are welcome to board my ship as long as they actually do something helpful. I don't want to be trying to aim a hook when all of a sudden the ship starts to move or I'm suddenly being attacked by three ships.

My theory is this:
Board my ship w/o permission.. ask politely if its ok you stay.
Dont shoot unless captain orders it.
Dont be running the stairs on my ship. That makes me ****ed off.
If Captain tells you to cease fire.. you dang well better do it.
Enter "walk the plank" if these basic rules are not followed.

I think a lot of the new ppl are learning bad habits. Common sailing rules should be followed. If someone has grappled a flag ship.. back off and leave it the heck alone. Dont swarm around a boarded flag ship and shoot like crazy. I had this happen three times today and finally gave up and logged off. Either before I grappled or right after the flag ships were sunk by hoards of light sloops.

I would love to see servers specifically for lower level pirates... and then middle level.. and higher levels. A few mixed servers would be fun too. Maybe a few servers specifically for founders? paying? basic? I dont know.. but this onslaught of light sloops that are extremely rude and causing so much lag has to be fixed. Sailing is losing its fun by all this nonsense.

This is very annoying, I've marooned several stow aways on cutthroat and left them to the raiders, grenadiers and gypsies on the beach there. And the problem is getting worse than just basic access players who don't have a clue doing it, I had a lvl 18 paying member do the same thing!

But, I have noticed that the basics may not be ignoring us as we think they are. I've had several encounters where they would ask to crew or join up and I would answer no but even though they asked in local chat and I replied in local, they would keep asking if I was going to answer them as if they could not see my response.

I have had that porblem with a guild member, his parental controls were not set correctly and he could not see local or crew chat, only our guild chat. So they may not be ignoring us, but it is still rude to board a ship without asking, no matter the lvl of the player.

Yeah I know when I initially joined Disney had my account listed as "Child". I was unable to hear or talk to anyone on local chat.

Do they people mainly hop on ship that are smaller? I've yet to have anyone hop on my War Frigate. Maybe they have a harder time seeing me since I steer way up top.

This just happened to me for the first time yesterday; and, man, was I p.o'd!

I had just bought a War Galleon, and was taking it for its maiden voyage. Right off the coast of PR was a Revenant, two Monarchs and a Kingfisher or two. I lowered my sails and moved from the wheel to the cannons.

I was trying to tag the Revenant when a "So-And-So wants to be your friend" message appeared. Nothing annoys me more than to have friend requests from people I don't know pop up when I'm in battle, so I clicked "No". Then I got an invitation to join the crew of So-And-Ao, which I also declined. Suddenly, So-And-So boarded my ship. Since I had just tagged the Rev, I figured I'd deal with him later.

But my trouble was not over, as a second unknown pirate sailed up. First he blocked my view of the Revenant with his sails. Then the whole ritual began again: "Friends?" No. "Crew?" No. Unknown Pirate #2 boarded anyway.

The Revenant had turned toward me and was in the perfect position for my cannons, when suddenly I felt my ship begin to sail! One of the boarders had taken over the wheel! I jumped from the cannon, ran to the wheel, kicked the scurvy jerk aside and took back control of my ship. Thankfully, I was able to broadside that Revenant and dock without damage.

The amazing thing is that this pirate (who was a Level 10 paying member) had the nerve to ask me to be friends again after we docked! I told him NO WAY, that what he had done was very uncool and incredibly rude.

PotCO had supposedly fixed this issue in one of the updates about a week ago, but it's obviously still a problem. If nothing else, they should give us the option to block off access to our ships to anybody but friends and enlisted crew -- or be able to boot people who come aboard uninvited.

well heres my favorite highjacker story of the day .. started yesterday.. i am out with a guildie taken down flags all is well and good hook on to a barracuda flag guildie asks "ready"
i respond "aye..."

boom black screen comp locked up requires a full shut down restart to get back in the game ..wow mega crash .. later same thing repaeted .. so we report bug ..no responce ..hmmm..

today .. ok here it is i double box a guy i call him my highjack blocker .. have him sit on the wheel of my ship and keep the boarders at bay....

so same guildie same setup
... hooked to flag ready to go .. get the box to board .. as i do it knocks my highjack blocker free from the wheel ..normal does it to everyone..
but as i click to board the ship i see in my second monitor a freak'n highjacker grabs the wheel..boom black screen of death....

your ship needs to be stopped to board.. if not major crash...

this isnt just a minor pain in the aztec gold .. it requires a strong responce and immediate action...

I agree with you there fully. Though I may be a basic access, I ask before I go boarding someone else's ship.
