Guildmaster MIA
Well almost. He's being lured to the dark side (LOTRO) and it looks as if his online time will be spent there instead of on POTCO. Is it at all possible to make another guild member the new guildmaster? I've tried searching the game site but (surprise) no help there. We really don't want to abandon our current guild or start a new one. If something can be done before he's lost completely suggestions would be welcomed.

If the GM links accounts with the co-GM(s), then they can log in (using only their own id/password) under his identity to make officer promotions/demotions, even if the original GM has reverted back to basic membership and is subsequently out of the picture.

I'm sorry to hear that you are losing your GM.
As a GM of a guild that has gone thru such a thing, I can only give you some advice. 1) Disney does not provide a means to switch GM's. We tried! 2) The only thing that you truely need the GM for is promotions and demotions. IF you can convince your current GM to occasionally stay in touch, or at least answer emails and log in for promotions and demotions, then you can continue to operate as normal. 3) If your GM is truely going awol, then you would probably be better off folding the guild and starting a new one. Get all of your members to agree, and have someone go start a new guild, get the name rights, then pick a date to move everyone to the new guild. 4) If you create a new guild, you will lose any status or position in the top 100 lists. You can't transfer top 100 status. 5) When The Elite Circle GM went missing, we kept the guild running for over 3 months, just the officers. But eventually, we decided to move everyone to a new guild. The move went smoothly, and Dueces Wild has had a pretty good run, and continues to do so. SO this is the move that I recommend. 6) The idea of linking the old GM's acct to someone elses will work, but the original GM will still be the one who receives all msgs or emails regarding the guild. Not there have been many, but it is still something to consider. &) Good-Luck, whichever way you go.

I'll see if one of these ideas can be implementd. One of our major members is currently serving in the deep blue sea and can't be reached for a couple more months and is probably the main reason we aren't ready to change things. I do have a means of keeping in touch with the GM so will probably just leave things as they are for now.
