Do you think Desolation is useless?

I don't. It can save you from dying (if it is maxed) when your health is low and you are fighting enemies (it can only save you from injured level 31+ enemies though) since it does not kill you. It also helps clean a ship during flagship battles.

Nothing worse than taking your health down when facing a tough enemy (like a level 30+ enemy), and Desolation wont kill them, you'd have to cast it several times (and die while they beat you senseless). Unless you beef it up with extra points (that you will find are much more useful elsewheres).

For something that takes so long to charge, hurts the caster, and doesnt take out any enemies... seems like more of a hindrance than a help.

Sure does look cool though.

The only time I've ever used it is when welcoming a new guild member. Takes too long to charge for battle IMO.

Yes I think desolation is pointless and useless.
I always say that it hurts you more than it does the enemy, which is true
I only use it for showing off

I put sometimes. It is useless for actually fighting, but extremely useful for impressing the newbies

Yes, it's 100% useless to me because it's not even as powerful as you would think it is. The only thing it's really good for is impressing newbs in Abassa Tortuga, but that doesn't interest me at all.

I'm with everyone else...more of a novelty then anything...plus works well in cleaning up the dishes at the RatSkellar...

Sometimes. Mine kills almost everything level 15 and under, but I may be wrong. For a level 30 it takes half its health away.

It doesn't hurt you more than it hurts an enemy as a rule of fact, and the fact that it doesn't is a rule of fact. It doesn't always, and that is always true.

Since the amount it robs from you is set in stone, though the amount it takes from an enemy isn't, you'd have to max it to see max effect.

I think it's somewhat useful always, though it's best as a closer as the amount it takes from you is smaller, and it is closer to the enemy's... desolation.

Oh, one more thing: something can't be sometimes useless. If it has a use at one time, then it ain't useless.

i like desolution but is is 100% useless the only thing its good for is impressing the newbs

I put sometimes its a great tool for impressing lower levels but for battles its quite useless.

I they could lower the damge it does to you so it is one of the better staff hexes.
Other than damage to yourself it's ok.
