Thanks~ -RRCC

Sometimes when you go into PvP, and then return to the regular pirate world, the red level number remains. NPC's of course (game enemies) red represents a dangerous level enemy. |

The one thing that I was always curious about(and I'm an inquisistive fun person at heart)...
and this kinda goes along with the initial question... what are the various symbols over some of the other players heads and what do they represent? I know the gold F is for the founders/beta testers/etc...but I see others with a blue "i"' or a mug on some crews...was curious... |

The Mug and Other Symbols come from your Crew HUD display when you are crewed up... you have to have Crew HUD turned on to see the Symbols.
On your screen in crew of the left is where you will see each crew member and what they are doing (manning a cannon, just sailing or a weapon in hand). Above the crew heads you will see different colors of mugs (now theres a thread telling you the colors - one is basic, another is a member, so on... but I can't seem to find it at the moment... )

I don't recall seeing the blue "i" over anyone. I do recall seeing the shield symbol that say 2XP from the Father's Day double-reputation weekend quest.
Type "F" to open "friends" panel. At the bottom is CREW. Once friends list is set to crew, you can see the health of crew members, teleport to them (if you end up in jail, etc.) whisper, befriend them, etc. If you go into CREW OPTIONS you can set the "Toggle Crew Icon" which turns the mug on or off. The mug is supposed to be on by default for SvS crews. But in SvS, that lets your enemies target you better for assassination. I turn crew icon OFF for SvS and ON for getting ready for a boss battle...really helps to see who is already in crew and who is still missing. I'm a level 40. If anyone invites me to their crew, I first join their crew, then decide if I want to stay (often I do, even if they are a level 2 pirate) because the crew bonus is just too enormous. Free rep! As long at those pink dots are on compass, they count towards the crew bonus. It works in Fort Charles, as well as sailing. (In Fort Charles, low level players will often need to teleport back from jail anyhow...) In Kingshead, crew is very important. Not only is that first 20% crucial, but ammo runs are suddenly easy. Crew matching there is wonderful - gives a mule for you to come back to, while saving someone else a sailing trip out there is they search for your crew. I've found that most people that get to Kingshead by crew matching, will be polite and actually take turns if asked to. (And pirates working together on Kingshead need all the "good karma" they can get!) |

Thanks guys...appreciate the answers...
I know the crew system and all...I'm lvl 37...I was just curious about the icons over people's heads...guess I need to look at Options more...heh ![]() Usually the only options I set are graphics-wise... But yea Edward I have seen like a blue-ish "i" over people's heads from time to time...figured that it possibly had something to do with the new Privateering... |

Yeah, they fixed the "PVP" Glitch to when you tp out, you look like a human. But the glitch still works. Thats what the red lv tag stands for

I have also noticed outside of pvp that when I have my voodoo doll out other players' level tags are color coded like enemy tags. At a glance you can tell their strength in relation to your own, without reading their actual level.

(a remnant of PvP left behind when you exit to the normal area) In normal play all pirates numbers are white. |
