Where to put skill points on grenades?

Ok, so I just mastered my grenades. I have been using smoke bombs for awhile so I haven't put any points on anything besides one on siege charge to see how they were. Just asking you guys before I start putting them on pointless skills. Or... Should I just leave it and hope for the next big update to add more skills?

Any ideas? Here are the points as they sit.

Combat Skills
2/5 Throw
1/5 Volley

Ammo Skills
5/5 Explosives
2/5 Stink Pot
2/5 Fire Bombs
1/5 Smoke Bombs
1/5 Siege Charge

Passive Skills
2/5 Determination
1/5 Demolitions
0/5 Toughness
1/5 Ignore Pain

I have 8 points to use now. Anything I should be putting them on? I think it was a mistake to put all 5 on explosives as they do too much damage to get any decent rep. But, putting only one on smoke helped alot at high levels.

Thanks in advance for all the ideas etc.

Well, its all about personal preference. I know with my big Pirate, it was very hard to max nades, much less get any reps for them without using smoke (only 1 point). Heres Angels build:

Combat Skills
1/5 Throw
1/5 Volley

Ammo Skills
3/5 Explosives
1/5 Stink Pot
1/5 Fire Bombs
1/5 Smoke Bombs
2/5 Siege Charge

Passive Skills
5/5 Determination
1/5 Demolitions
5/5 Toughness
5/5 Ignore Pain

If I had it all to do all over, I would remove the demolitions (since close range it hurts more then it does good), and put the extra skill points from the standard nade on the siege. THose are fun to use for a fast kill. Also, no stink pot.

Hunters build is as follows:

Combat Skills
1/5 Throw
1/5 Volley

Ammo Skills
1/5 Explosives
0/5 Stink Pot
1/5 Fire Bombs
1/5 Smoke Bombs
*/5 Siege Charge (N/A yet)

Passive Skills
5/5 Determination
0/5 Demolitions
4/5 Toughness
1/5 Ignore Pain

That build is helpful for leveling up. I am at 19, almost to 20 now and shes only Not 33. Once I master, I will max my siege for the heck of it. They are a blast to use lol, no pun intended.

So it looks like you add more to the passive skills.

I don't see alot of situations where one would use grenades to fend off enemies(as other weapons help more, or get quicker hits to kill) so that was kinda my question about either adding the points, or just leaving them.

Might be just me, but I spent alot of time lvling in the same place. Mastered pistol and grenades there(Tormenta). Taking advantage of a glitch I guess, but why not when grenades are so hard to level. Using hex shots on molusks at first to drop voodoo and getting 100 for each. Sometimes the seabeards would get in, but not too hard to kill them off using no tonics. You can only sit on kingshead so long before getting +4 for each in the group! LOL

Keep the help coming, I would like more ideas.

Like I said before, my grenades are mastered so I would like to know if I really even need to add points to anything...

Here's how I did it Twisted:

Combat Skills
3/5 Throw
1/5 Long Volley

Ammo Skills
5/5 Explosives
1/5 Stink Pot
1/5 Fire Bombs
1/5 Smoke Bombs
5/5 Siege Charge

Passive Skills
5/5 Determination
1/5 Demolitions
1/5 Toughness
2/5 Ignore Pain

I did demolitions just to have everything, but do I really need to do more damage, especially with seige charge maxed, and round shot and lightning maxed on my mastered cannoneering? Probably not. Toughness? How many times do you get hit with cannonballs or go up against grenadiers at this point. Again, just did it to have it. I like the Determination. Maybe would have put another point on Ignore Pain, although slow doesn't hurt me that much. All in all, I'm satisfied with how I applied points. Like you, I waited till I was done to add most of them. See you on Tormenta.

LOL, I dont know about that, maybe its in PVP world? I have never been hit and hurt from a cannonball.....I always assumed its from the incoming fire to your ship. Still it helps when u have an Urchinfist on u!

I have been wondering about the usefulness of toughness as well. If it maxed could decrease the cannon ball damage to your ship by 25%, then it is a WONDERFUL skill to have. If it means it reduces the cannon damage to YOURSELF, then it is really useless.

I would love to be struck by lighting from the storm reapers once just to see how it feels like, but it never happens!
