Silver Shot and Steel Shot?
Do these shots work while PvP'ing? I'd prefer not to waste 2 skill points testing it out with no respec system in game. Any insight from you seasoned folk?

Pistol does very little damage in PvP but it's my favorite weapon for quick non-soldier PvE kills.
Rank 5 Aim combined with rank 5 Steel or Silver shot will take down the highest level undead or davy jones' crew in just a few hits. Not to mention the Hex Eater shot can neutralise any Doll wielding PvE enemy for easy risk free rep.

Yeah I noticed the pistol dmg being low, infact all dmg is reduced quite a bit in pvp. I actually dropped 5/5 into hex shot for pvp purposes only to find out people regen voodoo faster than I can burn it. Pretty dissapointing. Anyhow, I was hoping the damage on the shots would increase the pistol dmg enough for it to be a viable pvp weapon, I guess it's not.
It's a shame pvp has come down to doll kiting and a few cutlass combo's while the enemies shackled. |

I'm only lvl 13 on my pistol and was planning on saving my points up and spending them at once. I wasn't sure if it was worth getting hex eater, silver, and steel shot. They look good...but a lot of the skills sound good but don't work as well as you'd expect

Get some points in Hex eater. Then you can milk voodoo using enemies for rep after you take away their attacks.

I just answered this question thanks to a guildie who is remaking due to, what he would consider, bad point allocation. Both steel shot and silver shot deal less damage in PvP than lead shot, making them absolutely worthless from a PvP'er's point of view. They were both regular shooting for 1 dmg and 5 point take aim shooting for about 10 damage. Don't waste you're points here unless for some reason you want limited ammo for some PvE purpose.
Shifty~ [edit] The same goes for banish (voodoo staff). |

same for maxxed desolation+maxxed whatever it was that increased staff spell damage(not on pirates so forget the name) utterly worthless in pvp as it does more damage to you than them
sad unless the player is such a low level that it wouldve been pointless to use anyways.

silver shot is good for living creatures such as molusks and "brinescums" hit the like 6 times with it and continue it with lead shot
it will give you 100 rep but silver shot is very powerful towards undead steel shot is the complete opposite from silver shot and also powerful against the living |

now which is more powerful?
a lead shot at rank 5.....or a silver/steel shot at rank 5? |

Sometimes it's not advisable to kill the enemy as quickly as you can. Don't forget the more shots you get in, the more Notoriety you get.

Yep, I like to stick with my one point per skill. Best way to get notoriety especially when your tryin to master.

Been using the 3 point steel shot to bring down the Urchinfists quick. While slowly wittling enemies away is one way of getting rep, killing them as fast as they respawn is another...and with maxed out ammo bags, it takes a while to run out of shot.
