Retraining Blues?

If you max out a skill in a weapon and then use it a lot after than, you can get extra points assigned to that particular skill. Crimson Rose has 8 points in the wind-catcher and full-sail skills.

What happens to those extra points if you retrain on that weapon? Do you get to keep them and reassign them, or do they disappear? Plus can you reassign extra points to a skill that had extra points before, or even one that didn't?

Those (default) extra skill points stay with the weapon after retraining. The rest are left to you to reassign as you wish.

Those extra points sound to me like they are coming from a sea chart. Using a skill a lot after you max it out will not give it extra points. Wind Catcher isn't even a skill that you 'use a lot', it just adds to your maximum ship speed.
