Could someone explain how this is supposed to work? I just hit level 20, and I don't know how to use it.

You basically hit the button and it protects your ship I'm guessing.

That's what I assumed, too. But when I use it, it doesn't work.

That answers it. It lasts for 10? seconds and protects you from one hit.
