Explosive shot - Biggest waste of points!

Explosive shot must be one of the bigest wastes of skill points, and even worse I accidentally used two on it

sounds great when you read the description until you realise that you can only get three of them and as if that wasnt bad enough you have to be virtaully touching the enemy ship to hit it, the shot must be pure lead as no matter how I try I cant get it to go any distance

when you add to that that it takes forever to reload it is going to be practicaly useless for any purpose and I really wish I could return it and put the points onto something else

has anybody actually found it usefull??

Atleast, you didn't put 5 points on it as soon as you got it, like some others I know.

I wish I never even put one point on it. It's terrible. Description is awesome! It stinks in game play though, as you said

It is my opinion at this time that the explosive ammo is not very effective or practical. Just like many other skills in the game, the description is great, but the actual execution leaves something to be desired.

I have found that if I have 2 cannons available, I load my explosive in one, then move to another. The explosive is ready to fire should I need it, and I dont have to wait for it to load in order to use it. I have successfully used that explosive set up a few times.

Just remember, we do not know whats coming next, and it could be very useful in the long run. Just like the grape shot, I think it will prove to be of value in the coming expansions.

agreed. it would have been nice to know about the 3 shot capacity, LOOOONNGGG reload time, and 6 foot range before hand.

Have you tried lobbing grenades from ship to ship? It works great and costs less. You can use more explosive results. Kills on-board Navy/EITC crew AND damages their ships!

A bit tricky to use but a challenge!
