Galleon or Frigate - which is better?

I have a Galleon and have debated on owing a Frigate instead. How much better are Frigates over Galleons? Plus, if you answer can you please let me know if you have owned both? Thanks!

I have owned a War Frigate and War Galleon, here are the differences:

Frigate:

More armour and hit points.
Better for team play, more deck cannons and weaker broadsides.

Conclusion: Durability and team play.

Galleon:

Faster than Frigates, but less armour and hit points.
Better for sailing alone, more powerful broadsides.

Conclusion: Speed, power and individual advantages.

I have had both in the past. I do prefer the Frigate because of the extra guns, especially the forward mounted ones. I think the galleon may be able to carry more cargo (not sure) but I mainly only sail to sink ships and so the extra cannons do help.

I prefer the Frigates because of all the cannons and you can see the ships in front of you when you're not sailing.
I like the size of galleons but when you're crew on one, it's hard to see what's coming ahead of you.
But I like both.

Frigates: Better for Sailing with 2+ People in Crew and for Speed
Galleons: Better for Lone and Slow Sailing

I agree, you need at least one other guy on the crew to take advantage of the front cannons on the Frigate to really show its stuff.

Otherwise if you're alone you may as well use the Galleon and get the most out of the broadsides.

War Sloop is good for traveling. Maybe it can be good in combat if you're very skilled at the hit and run. I think it'd be a better PvP ship than PvE.

having owned both, I say here is the crux of it:

Frigates: More fire power, better than galleon with multiple people, wearker broadsides.

Galleon: Stronger Armor, Better broadsides, good lone fighter.

Depends on what you want to do when you sail. Galleons are more for cargo and the protection of that cargo. Frigates are for battle, basically.
