Ship Customization - My ideas

I realize that this idea is already there, so I would like to expand on it, so it is more then just "you can customize your ship".

There would be ship parts for each type of ship, and they cannot be used on any other type.
Ex. A War Frigate cannot use a part from a light frigate.

There would be 4 main types of ship parts:
Bow (front)

• Boosts ramming speed damage
• Boost maximum speed for Full Sail and Ramming Speed
• Front Boardside (not available for all sloop class ships)
  The amount of front boardsides is determined by ship type.

Hull

• Boosts ship HP
• Boosts ship defense
• Boosts ship Hull shield, and hull shield is repaired faster.
• Increased ship speed, a good hull has low resistance and glides over water faster.

Boardsides:

• Boosts Boardside range
• Boost boardside damage
• Boosts boardside reloading speed.

Sails

• Boost Ship speed
• Boosts sails life and ramming speed/full sail recharge rate

Each ship part gives a specific type of boost that would make your ship unique. You can either make your ship:
-Faster
-More damage
-More HP
-More defense

Specific ship parts would only boost ONE of the attributes listed above.
General ship parts would boost all of them, but the amount for each is reduced.

General ship parts can be bought at the shipwright. Specific ship parts can only be found from sailing. After a ship is sunk, it gives a chance to drop a ship part.

Ship parts also come in rarities.
Light class ship parts: Crude - common
Medium class: Crude - rare
War class: Common - famed

Enemy ships also only drop things that is the same as their ship type.
An enemy War Frigate will not drop a crude ship part, as War ship ship parts come in common-famed. It will also not drop a light frigate ship part, as it is a war frigate.

Ship part Groups:
Like the weapon groups, ship parts also have groups. Although unlike weapon groups, ship parts in a group are not the same as each other, in weaker and stronger versions.

Each group consists of 1 sail piece, 1 boardside piece, 1 hull piece, and 1 bow piece.
They work especially well together, and give additional boosts to which ever attriibute that the ship pieces focus on when used together.

Say.. I have a group of ship parts, which each part gives speed.
The hull gives increased speed
The sail gives increased speed
The boardsides give increased reloading speed
and the bow gives increased speed when full sail and ramming speed is used.

This set focuses on speed, good for hit and runs. So when I use all 4 pieces, it will give me extra speed. It would not make sense to give damage, as this set sacrifices damage for speed.

I like the ideas you have here. It makes complete sense, and it isn't completely overcomplicated. I would add power broads such as Fury and Thunder broads, but that is just me. Overall, nice idea Ruisen.

Hmm... Forgot about costs, lol.

If your ship equipped ship parts, ship repairing cost would get an increase by 3% per piece.

Also, equipping a ship part to your ship also costs money. Smaller ships have less building fee, larger ships have a lot more.
