Isla Congrejos - Severed Arm Treasure Chest

I have been roaming the island for over 30 minutes now and I am pretty sure I have hit every dig spot...can anyone give me a hand in what I need to do to find the right chest that has the severed arm needed for the Hendry Cutts quest?

It's been a while since I had that quest on Beta, but read the quest carefully. I believe it states a round abouts area, like at the end of the island, around a formation of rocks. When you get there, it was there. A high lv crab spawns, when u kill it, dig. it is a pretty large rock formation near the shore.

Yes, it's at the end of the island near a group of rocks. There are a bunch of crabs there, so kill them off first, or have a friend come to distract them while you dig. If you don't get it the first time, wait for it to reset and try again. I had to dig a few times before I got it.

On any dig for treasure quest, if the box comes up saying "searching for ... not found" that means it's the right spot but you didn't get it yet. If it says "no quest items were found" that means it's the wrong dig spot.

When you dock head around ot the right. Just before you get to the tip of the island you wil see an obvious rock formation with 2 giant crabs and several rock crabs. It is very close to the shoreline.

Thanks for the pics, those would have been great when I spent an hour finding this dig spot.

Smile Treasure chest

I've looked in the spot you have pictured. It's already dug up and won't go back. What do I do now? I've gone to different oceans, I've circled Tortuga, I've landed on Tortuga, and even sank a ship trying to wait for it to reset. Is it a glitch? PLEASE help!

I had the same problem and I had to switch servers to get it to work.

All dig spots reset after some time. What is odd is that a couple of the major ones seem to stay for over a half hour before resetting while others go away as soon as you open it and respawn in under a minute.

On this one you will have to either wait it out (which could take a very long time) or jump servers until you find one that hasn't been hit. Try off peak times as well like what would be evening or early morning in the US.

Good Luck

Even if you get it to work on a different server, I recommend you send in a bug report.

I am playing two different pirates and they both hit this quest at about the same time last month. But when I tried to complete this task, either the chest was already dug up or it would report that "no quest items were found." Both of my characters were stalled for days because of this bug. Changing servers and repeated log-ins did nothing to fix it.

I sent in multiple bug reports, and also did Live Chat with Online Support. I was told that it was a "known issue" and that it would be patched. Several days later, both pirates were finally able to dig up chests containing arms, so I figured they had fixed it.

it must be bugged again then since i tried last night and again a little bit ago and the treasure is staying dug up and will not respawn.
checked known issues and it is not showing as a game issue
there were about 10 other players ingame last night having the same prob with this quest.

bug report sent

Unhappy

Apparently this is still an issue. I've been on this for days, logged on and off and even dug it up once. Once it was dug up I couldn't re-dig it and I've taken to just killing high level crabs to pass time and see if it resets, but never does.

I had some troubles locating the digging area, until the picture! thanks for the picture! haha. As for the troubles with respawning... I just barely dug it up and i got the severed arm the first time.
