Some anti-grefer ideas....
Here are some anti-greifer ideas. Hope you like them!
Personal Space. This one is pretty simple. you wouldn't be able to get to close to anyone. i'm sure you all had for experiences with too closeness to some... unpleasant people. same for NPCs, they shouldn't be able to get to close to each other. i mean during and invasion 5 skeletons can get by taking up the space of one, making it kind of unfair. Spies. Like club penguin, if any of you have played it or still do. i dont anymore, but what ever. so anyone with out ANY bans or warnings against you. you would have to be playing for a month or so. if you see anyone greifing or what not, you could press on them and ether press the "ban" button in witch they would get three warnings. first one, window pops up at the screen. second one window and not able to chat for 10 minutes. third, banned for a week. and what else you could do is make it so they can't chat for 30 minutes. anyone who gets one of these punishments would not be able to be a spy. a spy would only be able to punish 5 times a day. the only problem i see with this is that a spy might abuse there power. thats why i said they should only be able to punish 5 times a day. if anyone has any ideas on how to stop this, please post ![]() Hope you like them!!!!! please post what ever you think should be added and you option and what not!

Here's a good idea: promote a better enviroment for the game.
The general thing among griefers is that "You can't touch me, it's just a game, I can do whatever I want." And while we all sometimes get the idea that these people do this "just for fun," it's more than likely that these people were PROVOKED in to doing this. What we need to do is make the game's atmosphere more open, fun, and enjoyable for all pirates. It might be the case that as a lower player, a pirate was picked on by higher levels. Thusly, when they become a higher level, they'll think it's okay to do the same thing. Instead of letting a cycle like this continues, we need to make sure our friends, guildies, and fellow pirates know that messing with other players is not right, no matter how justified you are. This means preventing pirates from going around and bothering people and guilds they don't agree with, teaching pirates that it's not right to be rude and intrusive, even in a game, and so forth. Personal Space might just bring back the days of AFK pushing, where griefers would sometimes push AFK players in to enemies, glitches, and so forth. Although some guilds, such as DW, made a game with it, not all players have the same good intentions as others. If pushing can be prevented, though, fine by me. Spies would only make matters worse. I get what you're thinking, with the whole "Invisible Reporter" and everything, but it's more than likely people will not only abuse it, but take it the wrong way. If somebody sees somebody spying on their guild, they'll take it as just that - spying. In the end, we just need to try and make the POTCO community a nicer place. Sure, there will always be those few that do grief just for fun, but we need to make it so that maybe, just by being nice, helpful, or informative, you'll end up preventing a future griefer. |

Some of these are hit and miss, Seaking, but there is always an ignore button. Remember that. Now if only the ignore button would make them disappear from your view... |

The problem with not walking through others is that in populated areas, you basicly get "stuck".
I often had to wait half an hour to get past a road, because there's like 50 ppl blocking it, with no way to get through. |

here the problem del: some people dont care about the family atmosphere. they just wanna greif.
Oh and about the personal space: you wouldn't be able to push people, its like when you try to run at a wall and you can't touch it, you just keep running into a invisible wall in front of it. Last edited by SEAKING23; 02-08-2011 at 01:26 AM.. |

....but if you can push people, you can push them into enemies, or glitch areas, or other things. Honestly, they should allow us to go through other characters. It allows you to get through crowds easier, and if it was taken away, we can't boing anymore. I do actually like the spy idea though. It works well in a game like Club Penguin (I've played it. I know what I mean.) Actually, I think the term was Secret Agent or something along those lines. I think that to be a Secret Agent, you would have to have a clean playing record, have played for at least a year, and be at least level 20. When an Agent reports, they can actually type a response in, and then it will go straight to a Disney official to be reviewed.

Once played CP once and the agent thing is kinda noticed from all players. Plus being a secret agent or something like that can be abused really fast. Just like the Admins here, they dont just choose a mod and go with it, they choose carefully.

I don't like the clean record idea. It would be unfair to people like me. I was in a guild and said that one person would be a better GM then the current one. The GM thought I said that he was unfit to lead a guild banned me. Now I can't get Test

Banned for a week? That seems a little cold. Plus this would get abused. I like the first idea.

Ehh.... perhaps you guys are right. Maybe the Secret Agent thing isn't too great of an idea... even if we did get it, they should definitely fix the reporting system we have right now first.

Good point davy, but D will need a mod. team of about 20-30 people. And get rid of the word noob, maybe throw moron into the mix. At least we aren't allowed to swear, in a lot of other games you can.
