A Krewe Shanty

Some shantys rhyme and some shanty's don't
Some shanty's will but this shanty ain't.
The Krewe were sailin' so far from home
Feelin' a bit lost and a little bit by themselves.
With the fairest of winds and following seas
Their beards and bandanas blowin' in the wind
Sailin' for the trades with a bone in her teeth
Ran Black Bart's ship right into a shoal!
The Krewe were surprised, for ne'er before
Had their fearless Cap'n crashed into the sand.
What were in his head the mumbled aloud
Feelin' not to pretty and not too good.
Ol' Bart were confused, and all mates could see
That grounded were not where Bart wanted to end up.
So with a growl and a snarl and a big ol' bad shout
They unbeached the craft and watched her ride away.
All proud of their work and with heads all quite swelled
'Til one of the Krewe suddenly shouted;
"We've unbeached the boat, 'Tis true by my word
"But it's sailin' away with no Krewe left on the deck.
Amazed they all stared as the ship drifted away.
And thinkin' that their sailing was done for the afternoon
Bart said "Don't worry mates, there's always a catch!
"We're on Rumrunner's Isle, so Rum we shall collect.
"And light us a fire as big as the sky
"In hopes that a ship might just sail past
"And see our fine signal emblazen the sunset
"They'll be here quite soon, it's a very safe wager."
But the Krewe did protest and all said "NAY!"
We'll drink up the rum and take our chances this afternoon!"



Now mates, it ye read (sing) this shanty correctly, the first and then every other line should lead your mind to an apparent rhyme for the ending of the next line. However, the fun of it is that the expected rhyme is not here.
