GM's new ability
Ahoy maties. After being at a couple of encounters with Constance Sorrow, I have come to realize that she has a special gift not seen before around these waters. That gift is one of being able to lay a pirate out in revive position, without touching him. And it does not seem to matter what level the pirate is or how healthy he might be. And to add insult to injury, Constance can send that poor mate pack’n off to jail if she so desires. The one common thread to these happenings is that the pirates made Constance mad for not listening to her request to stay out of her house. Nor would they listen to the other pirates gathered to listen to what Constance had to say.
I have also heard chatter that the same thing has happened to pirates that got Captain Rott and Captain Shaw of the Black guard mad. It appears as though all GM’s have been given this ability to take care of unruly pirates I for one think it’s about time for this. This pirate is tired of attending GM sponsored events, only to have them ruined by pirates who do not understand what role playing is and just want attention. Well, those pirates are getting attention now, WHAM! Nite, nite! Capt. C Ray |

Aye I quite agree with ya matey. Some pirates will never learn though. Even with this ability there will always be those who come back a second and third time for punishment. Hehe! It is fun to watch though. Maybe after the 5th time you get a suspension??? lol!

Aye, Capt Ray...Methinks the Host GM's are tired of being overwhelmed by unruley pirates. How many times do ya have to say "Stow your Weapons" or "Stay outta me house"? So IMHO, it's a good addition to the game...I left the last Host GM event because of said unruley pirates...but maybe I have a low resistance to such antics..idk

Har, right and truly said mates. One of the things I really enjoy in the game is interacting with the GM's and the role play. I also like that the GM's can now deal with these disrupters.
Yer fine CombatLizzy - its frustrating to try and get information, Roleplay and help Constance for instance when she keeps having to scream "Get out of my house" and other such things because some pirates won't take the hint. hmmmm Polly, I like that - 5 times and gone fer good. Nice idea there. fact is if ye are not interested in the Role Playing event then stick to yer plundering and don't ruin the fun for the rest o' us. Cheers! Captain Whale |

While it's nice to see something can be done about the unruly, I have a problem with the knockouts. See, I had a friend TP to see Constance with me. The lag was so terrible I didn't get to even warn her to stay out of the house before she got knocked out.
She wasn't with me a minute before it happened. Not exactly fair since she wasn't even there long enough to get warned then BOOM down she goes? No, they can't see who TPs in, but I thought that was pretty unfair. She had done nothing wrong on purpose. She just didn't get the warning till it was too late. I would say a notice should pop up on the players screen. Something like this for Constance.... "Leave my house or you will go to jail." Give them 30 seconds to leave, cause in a lagfest it might just take that to even move, then off you go. If it's the same player twice, they should get, "Leave my house or be booted from the game." Third time, "Leave my house of you will be booted and suspended for 24 hours." That way the player gets more than enough warning if it's an honest mistake, and actual consequences if they do it on purpose. For players caught doing this at more than one GM event (and we've all seen em running around, maybe claiming to be EITC, maybe looking for GFs, whatever) after the 24 ban they would not get the first warning again. It would be "Warned ye have been, stop what you are doing or be booted and..." a 3 day, 7 day, and permaban. Cause lets face it, if a player gets 6 warnings that's more than enough. It should be clear by then they enjoy making trouble and well deserve the permaban. But for honest players who just didn't get warning in time? Nope, a knockout is not fair. |

no warning
The Hawke,
I agree with ya about being given a warning. Sorry to hear about your mate. Was there another pirate in the house at the time? The couple times I have seen Constance put a player down, she has warned them before taking action. Just wondering if it was a timing issue with your friend landing at the same time Constance was taken care of another pirate. Capt C Ray |

I'm with TheHawke on this one. I was waiting for ghosty for over 45 minutes and ended up sleeping/afk in "her house." This was before anyone knew how unsocial Constance could be lol. After I was sent to jail is when Constance first spoke to the players who had gathered. I thought it was rather funny once I figured out what had happened, but having a pirate laid out or sent to jail without warning is just rude and unbefitting a Host GM.

Could someone tell me what this is all about? I haven't been around POTCO for ages now, and I know I am missing who this Constance is and where she is and what her abilities are and the role playing.

I wish they used it at the right times though. Such as during the event, someone was chat spamming and all they got was a warning, no K.O.

This seems to be a new ability for the GM's. At from what I have seen and heard for the most part, the use of this new ability is done after warnings have been given. One possible exception to this involves Captain Rott. Appearantly, a pirate got in his face and was using language unbefitting the game. Captain Rott sent him to jail, no questions asked. I still feel these other instances of pirates "not getting" a warning are a timing issue. Another pirate has caused the GM to use their ability and he's just in the wrong spot at the wrong time. The GM's have to be fair minded pirates, since they represent Big D. |

New ability Vs. pampered Pirates.
Well Mates, I for one, as many of us have, I have been at and seen many of the GM events and I am thrilled of the new arsenal of options for unruly Pirates.
Hey, I even been at Constance Sorrows home a few times and if the GM have done anything it's been overly tolerant to Pirates of discord. They have always bent over backwards to kindly ask unruly Pirates multiple times to stow weapons and keep a civil tongue. Over the last year since GM's have made their interacting port of call they have been dealing with (as have we) Pirates of discord. Now,.... IF ... a pirate just happened upon Constance and was oblivious to what was happening in the Caribbean at the time (which would be amazing seeing throngs of Pirates are always there searching ) and IF Constance had previously been dealing with slightly unruly Pirates not heeding the multiple warning and they immediately went running into Constance home where everyone was standing and watching.. perhaps while the crowd was commenting on the usual constant warnings and they just ran into her home... well... surprise... lol... they got knocked out... life goes on and they have learned a playful lesson that while Mrs. Connie is in the house.. better stay out of her home. If your here, hearing this message and have known about POF for over, say.... 1 week.... and thought going in her home was not a issue if she asked you not to be there or you parked your Pirates there..... it could be said someone did not heed the obvious warnings.But,.. thankfully we all know GM's do not act without proper notice or courtesy. Some times they get busy... I can only imagine the speed the chat box scroll is moving and perhaps if a Pirate was a bit needy at the moment they may start griping that the GM was rude or did not talk to them, of course forgetting that 50 other Pirates are typing at the same record breaking speed as they are. lol... all I gotta say is... Gang... we don't want to have to throw a few Pirates over our shoulders and burp them do we? (will if we have too) ..... but I am not changing diapers! ![]() . |

I must say one thing -
For the sake of a single picture, I will only once go into her house. Afterwards... I'll respect her fully. (As I do all GM's.) ![]() CS~ |
