I. More user interaction
 1. Trading
This would require more in-game items/objects. These item/objects could include but would not be limited to.
     A.Weapon Customizations
       a. Barrels
       b. Hilts
       c. Blades
       d. Engravings
       e. Precious stone placement
        f. Gilding (To make gold externally)
     B. Character armor/defense system
       a. Alligator skin boots
       b. Crab-shell hats
       c. Eye-Patches
         - Ones that actually benefited you
     C. Ship customization
        a. Sail customization
        b. Figureheads
          - Angels
            . Offer more protection
          - Eagle
             . Offers more speed
          - Sea Monster
             . Offers more power
         c. Cannon Configuration
             . Ability to position crew cannons on ship through ship-wright
 2. More user-to-user skills
   A. Non-Aggressive skills
      a. Crafting
        Make things such as
        - Figureheads for ships
        - Weapon customizations
        - Some sort of protection equipment
       b. Ship building
        - Ships should be built, sold and purchased by players. Maybe sold through shipwright
       c. Gun Smithing
         - Ability to build/customize pistols, cannons and grenades for other players, and of course sell them

II. Better Guild System
 1. Guild Bank
   A. Donation system
       a. Players can donate money to bank
 2. Custom Guild islands
   A. Ability to purchase a guild island
       a. Only Guild members may visit
       b. Hold guild battles
   B. Customization
       a. Hire workers such as gunsmiths, shipwrights
       b. Place meeting halls, and other buildings
 3. Flagships
   A. Ability to purchase guild flagship
       a. May be purchased with guild money
       b. Has custom sails
       c. Requires at least 4 guild members to operate
 4. Messages
   A. Messages at log-in
       a. Officers and GM can set a custom message for guild members upon login.
III. New Locations
 1. Spittlefield Harbor, Jamaica
   Many of the islands, including port royal and cut throat isle come from a movie called Cuththroat Island, which was released in 1995.
   Spittlefield Harbor is one of the places they left out.

Nice list. A bit comprehensive, and quite a few of these suggestions have been posted elsewhere, but it's good to see them all in one place.

Those are certainly some nice ideas, and even if they could only implement some of them, the game could be more interesting.

It might take some time to lay them out one by one and code them all, but I think it would be worth it in the end for the developers. They aren't incredibly difficult things to code, I know that their current engine does support the ship customization along with guild island customization. The weapon and boat customizations may be tricky though, they would have to completely re-make the boats and weapons I think.
The guild ideas are pretty easy to make as well.
And yes, I could do it, I'm not suggesting anything I know that I wouldn't be able to do, I've had my fair share programming stuff such as this, and I know it's not easy, but it shouldn't take more than a two-three or so to develop each thing.

Really, really, REALLY nice!!! I thought not only were your ideas spot-on-simple, (aside guild islands, they could take time) but they were extremely well organized. I'm really hoping someone influential to the game reads this thread. To think that some, if not all of these ideas could be implemented brings shivers to my spine. I think the guild island/ships/donations would really enhance gameplay. As of now, the only place where you can go to hang out with guildies is, well, tortuga beach. (it seems to be the most popular location; however, I don't feel it is all that fun...... AT ALL!!)

I think if Disney brought in a few new hands to the dev corner than things would move double time. And, things like guild cities won't seem COMPLETELY far-fetched. Good work CodyD.

P.S. What did you use to have your ideas in that scroll down text box??

Aye, I agree with you 100%! Those would be great additions to the game. And I like the guild island idea. The one thing that really keeps people in the game is their guild. After they give us the new story chapter.. they really should focus on improving guild options and such. If there were guild islands, ships, etc. that would benefit POTCO by encouraging guilds even more and also improving its appeal.

Ok I'm gonna outline guild islands.
Code:
I. Guild Island
 1. Location
   A. Between Port Royal, Padres, Cutthroat
 2. Game Logic
    If (Player Enters Island) {

       Island only shows players who are in same guild, each guild is given a guild   ID, in case multiple guilds have the same name.

     }

 3. Island
    A. Island has Flat spots
      a. Flat spots are where buildings and objects can be placed
      b. Objects Include
         -trees
         -Ponds
         -Docks
         -Flagpoles
         -Treasure Chest
            -Treasure chest can be used to donate money
         -Cave entrance
             -Allows a cave to made with high, medium and low level monsters present
       c. Buildings Include
          -Weapon Shops
          -Tattoo Parlor
             -To get guild tattoo
          -Flag-Shop
             -Purchase a guild flag for your ship
             -Edit Current guild emblem/flag
                -Only available to GM
           -Shipwright
           -Meeting halls
           -Jail
 B. These objects are only loaded according to guild ID, if the current guild ID.
 C. Guild moderation
    a. Guild invites would not work while on island or in dungeon or in shop
    b. If leave/kick, player is teleported to Port Royal
       -They would not go to previous island, because if the previous island there would be glitches available if it did that.
     c. Player cannot start the game while on island
     d. Passes can be given out to non-guild members to visit the island
     e. Passes can only be given out by officers and guildmasters
 D. Island types
   a. Small
      - $25,000 - $50,000
   b. Medium
      - $50,000 - $150,000
   c. Large
      - $100,000 - $250,000

Good suggestions, most if not all have been discussed here before, including the guild island idea. Right now they really really really need to concentrate on more content, as in the next story quest, and save these ideas for the next phase.
As it is, they are losing long standing paying players on a continual basis.
