Quest won't work?

I was doing a tattoo request that required me to find family heirlooms on a EITC marauder.

3 days and about 20 Marauders later... I found those family heirlooms.


When I did the quest requiring the blue orb, it also took me several ships... to finally locate the orb.
I think the option of "looking for..." helped keep our sanity to know it wasnt there.
Instead of it appearing like its just not working.

Besides removing the "Looking for" option, it also appears they made some of these quest items a bit 'harder' to find, and not on just any ship. Which actually I like.. more realistic.

Ironically you do the silly little fortune quest in port royal (guy by the barrel), who tells you to sink specific EITC ships.
Any ship, and I mean ANY ship you sink fulfills this quest. Sink a navy ferret, instant payola.

Exactly! Well, at least this forum is helping me to keep my sanity. I'll keep looking for that stupid orb.

I still use that guy even at my level. Easiest 105 gp in the game!

Since i started playing the game it never did the "checking for quest item" thing before but today after the update or maintenance or whatever, it's checking for things again. So that's nice.

I am having the exact same problem with nades and level four cutlass quests. I am just trying to be patient but it is like torture getting the lore etc.
